CHAPTER NINETEEN: Yule Ball

A/N: Okay dudes, I hope you guys like this one, because this is so far my fave chappy! This chappy has been running in my mind ever since I started this story! And for those who requested a bit more of Alexia/James well I think you'll love this one too (I hope!) okay here it goes....

The days passed and our two week detention was almost over, and we were about to go home for the Holidays. Filch was forced to not give us detention for that night Peeves blamed us for something he did (well actually we told him to do it, but still he set us up!) because we were already given two weeks of detention and in two weeks time we were going to go home for the Holidays, so instead points were docked from Gryffindor (20 points each).

We still served detention every night, so I’ve been growing eye bags and we weren’t able to eavesdrop on Carrow anymore because Filch kept a close eye on us, I mean really close it’s like he’s avoiding personal space now, our whole investigation on Carrow was becoming harder, we still didn’t get who he was contacting with that two way mirror, school life was becoming hard because of sleep deprivation so it was quite hard to balance it out. And because of sleep deprivation we don’t get to practice spells much during our free time anymore, James literally sleeps at three classes each day (History of Magic, Astronomy and Charms)

“So are you excited?” I snapped back to reality as I remembered I was talking with Laila, the two of us were in the library doing some homework and because of sleep deprivation I was falling asleep, and I was talking with someone.

“Huh? What?” I said as I shook the sleepiness off “Sorry about that Laila, detention’s been depriving my sleeping time.”

Laila just smiled

“It’s alright,” she said, she really was a good friend “it must be really hard serving those detentions every night.”

“You can say that again,” I said as I rested my head on my Charms book “Filch made us mop the whole second floor corridor that was infested with dung bombs…. Again.

Seriously, could Peeves use something else aside from dung bombs?! Scorpius, James and I have cleaned corridors that were dung bomb infested four times already! I’ve been getting used to the smell, and that is not a good sign.

Laila patted my back comfortingly

“That’s alright Alexia,” she said comfortingly “your detention is two weeks right? Until the day before we go home, that’s on Monday, and then you have the Yule Ball another thing to look forward to.”

I completely forgot about that, the Yule Ball, it was this Friday, and what day was it today? Thursday, great I have completely forgotten that my cousin technically nephew was taking me to the ball, oh never mind I still have 24 hours. I just hope we don’t do anything that has dung bombs involved tonight; it’s hard to get it off of my hair.

“Thanks for that Laila,” I said smiling weakly at her “so what were you asking earlier?”

“I was just asking if you were excited for the Yule Ball.” Said Laila

“Yeah I guess,” I said stretching my arms “it would be nice to have a night of fun and not another night of detention.”

Laila smiled

“That’s the spirit,” she said “and you would look great for sure, Coleen and Michelle are already planning out what to do with you.”

“Merlin, I hope they don’t go overboard.” I said shuddering dramatically “I’m not really the dress up kind of girl.”
