Meadow's fingertips ran across the wall as she slowly walked down the stairs, her heels echoing through the house as Keegan happily followed behind her with her hands slipped in the pockets of her pants. Her loose black curls brushed over to the left side to expose her freshly shaven side. Her white shirt exposing her chest a little as a small pendant dangled against her chest. A black blazer to match her tight black pants, her thick Doc Martin boots to pull it all together. Meadow turned to watch Keegan walk down the stairs with a bright smile, Keegan smiling back as she looked at her girlfriend in amazement.
"Is that my beautiful niece I see standing there like a model!" Iris commented cheerfully as she wondered towards her, champagne glass in hand. Meadow chuckled as she welcomed her with open arms, both of them embracing for a moment. Iris pulled away with a smile to turn her focus towards Keegan.
"Aunt Iris this is my girlfriend Keegan. Keegan this is my favourite member of this family!" Meadow announced happily as Iris chuckled at her before openly embracing Keegan in her arms. Keegan returned the embrace before pulling away again.
"It's nice to meet you!" Keegan said happily as she slid her hands back in her pockets. Iris nodded back in agreement.
"You too dear, don't worry I won't tell your mother. She'd have a heart attack." Iris commented before taking a sip of her champagne, turning her focus towards the tapping of high heels heading towards her.
"Iris, you're needed in the kitchen." Her sister sighed with a slight glare. Iris rolled her eyes in response, waving goodbye to Meadow and Keegan before wondering into the kitchen. Meadow's mom rubbed her temple for a moment before approaching Meadow.
"Yes?" Meadow sighed, folding her arms tightly across her chest as she looked back at her.
"Could you please not cause another scene for me. There's some very important people at this event and it could do wonders for my campaign if I got their vote." Her mom commented, giving her a small glare back. Meadow rolled her eyes with a heavy sigh, slowly unfolding her arms.
"Fine, whatever." Meadow complained as her mom quickly flashed her a weak smile, looking Keegan up and down from the corner of her eye before looking back towards Meadow. Her mom glanced down for a moment to see Meadow holding hands with Keegan. She exhaled deeply as she shook her head at her.
"Don't be so touchy around the guests, you don't want them thinking you're...gay." Her mom commented before turning on her heels and disappearing back to the main hall. Keegan waited till she was out of sight before lifting Meadow's hand to place a small kiss on the back of it. Meadow giggled before letting go of her hand again.
"Let's do this." Meadow sighed with a weak smile as Keegan nodded back and began to follow her into the main hall that was filled with guests. There was a large beautifully decorated tree sitting beside a lit fireplace. A large pile of presents scattered beneath the tree, two large buffet tables on the right side of the room. Meadow and Keegan glanced at each other for a moment before wondering towards the buffet table. Keegan grabbed a bottle of beer, grabbing a small glass of champagne to hand over to Meadow. Meadow happily took it from her hand as they turned to look at the room filled with guests dressed in high fashioned labels.
"What's the plan here?" Keegan asked as she threw back her beer. Meadow exhaled from her nose, swirling the champagne round in the glass.
"Just hope none of my mom's voters come over to talk to us I suppose." She sighed, taking a tiny sip of her champagne. Keegan chuckled at her, leaning in towards her ear. Meadow could feel her hot breath against her ear.
"You look stunning in that dress, you blow me away every time I see you." Keegan whispered, Meadow's cheeks warming up in a soft blush as she took another sip of her champagne to distract herself. Keegan pulled away to look at the flustered look on her face.
