"In today's news there was another attack on-"
She let out a heavy sigh as she turned off the TV, running her fingers through her tangled mess of hair before turning to glance at her laptop screen that was sitting ontop of her dinning table. Bending down almost completely over the table to catch a glance of her screen, a small smirk creeping onto her face before biting down softly on her bottom lip, chewing it a little as she tried to focus. She reaches her arm out to grab the now cold slice of toast from the plate beside her laptop. Her eyes were completely fixated on the screen in front of her as she took a bite out the corner of the toast. She chewed it on the right side of her mouth, placing it back down on the plate before covering her keys in grease from the butter on her fingers. Her fingers danced across her keyboard as she kept her eyes fixated on the screen. A soft sigh escaped her lips as she pushed herself to her feet again, wiping her greasy fingers off on her shirt before slamming her laptop closed. She lifted up the hem of her already worn out shirt to wipe the crumbs sitting in the corner of her mouth. She spun round, approaching her bathroom as she closed the door behind her. Opening the door to her shower to turn on her hot water, holding her hand to know exactly when the water warmed up. She pulls her hand out again, swiftly pulling her shirt off over her head, throwing it into an already full laundry basket that had been over flowing with a weeks worth of clothes for quite a while now. She took a quick glance over at the mountain of unwashed clothes overflowing out the laundry basket like a volcano. She finished getting undressed before climbing into her shower, closing the door behind her as she let out a soft sigh of relief as the hot water hit her skin. She threw her head back slowly, eyes slowly closing as the water hit her face. She ran her hands across her face slowly, feeling the hot water across her skin. Her slow motion movie moment was abruptly interrupted by the sound of her obnoxiously loud ringtone of her phone blasting through the silence of her empty house like a backstreet underground club. She turned off the water, sliding open the shower door to grab the towel that was sitting on the edge of the sink. She began to dry herself off with it as she left the bathroom, almost sliding across the wet floor as she dived to grab her phone to answer it.
"What? Hello?!" She said abruptly as she answered it, not stopping to even check who it was before she answered.
"It's only me! Calm down!"
"What do you want Nicole?" She asked with a heavy sigh as she slowly stood up again, continuing to dry herself off with her towel with her free hand.
"Declan is already here waiting for you so I wanted to see where you were." Nicole replied in a soft tone of voice. Meadow took a quick glance over at her clock with a sigh as she began to make her way to her bedroom.
"I'm still getting ready.." Meadow said as she entered her bedroom, using the heel of her foot to kick her bedroom door closed behind her, tossing her towel onto her unmade bed.
"Well text him when you're on you're way."
"Fine, be there soon." Meadow replied with a heavy sigh before hanging up the call and tossing her phone onto her bed in the process. She threw her head back slightly as she groaned before opening her closet to search through for something to wear.
Meadow pushed open the door as she pulled her earphones from her ears, keeping the door open with her shoulder as she slide her earphones and phone into her tote bag, adjusting the strap on her shoulder as she gently closed the door behind her as she approached the table were her friends were sitting. Nicole had her elbow resting on the table, chin resting in her hand as she used her free hand to tap her newly polished nails against the table. They were shaped like pointed claws, painted in a very feminine pink. The exact same colour as the lipstick she was wearing, exposed shoulders with a peak of a white bra strap in her sleeveless body hugging dress for a body that Nicole had been able to maintain since she was 14. There was something about the way that Nicole would dress that made her question her own femininity at times, it wasn't that she wasn't a feminine person but it was the way Nicole was comfortable in her own skin on a daily basis whereas Meadow only felt comfortable behind a screen.
