Hemadri's POV

I looked into his eyes, his eyes were filled with sorrow. The pain of not meeting his family for years. I held his hand and pulled him to the bed. I made him sit on it and settled down beside him.

"Hum ek dusre ko mahine se jante hai Aaru.. jab bhi milte hai ek dusre mein itna kho jaate hai ki apne har dukh bhool jaate hai aaj main chahti hun tum mujhe apne se judi har baat batao.. Chahe wo kitna bhi takleef bhara ho" I replied lightly tapping his cheek. He looked at me with moist eyes.

He smiled lightly said "bahut hi khush naseeb ho tum jo yahan aake apne sapne pure kar rahi ho har kisika naseeb tumhari tarah nahi hota"

I kind of understood what he meant by that.

5 years back

In Chandigarh a city in Punjab, Aarav lived with his father mother and younger sister. He belongs to a middle-class family but Aarav dreamt of enhancing the lifestyle of his family. He had seen many boys and girls leaving the city and moving overseas for a better future. They send money to their parents and built their own homes.

Aarav and Chetna were childhood friends both of them wanted to give a better life to their families. Aarav was helping his father at the farm and said "bauji aap aaram kijiye main deta hun pani khet mei.. "

"Are nahi beta tum jaake apne interview ki tayari karo.. Tumhe delhi jaana hai na kal" he replied smearing his head.

Aarav denied "bauji maine wo job nahi li"

His father was shocked "kyun??"

"Bauji wo mujhe London se ek offer aaya hai aur maine uske liye haan kar diya" he replied

His father gets angry hearing him. He leaves the water hose and walked towards the home. Aarav sighed in disappointment. Chetna came to him and said "maine kaha tha Aarav chacha nahi manenge.. Dekh agar tum nahi gaye toh main bhi nahi jaungi! Tujhe meri maa aur bauji ko bhi toh manana hai.."

Aarav glared at her "are pareshan mat ho.. Bauji ko toh main yuhi mana lunga tu uss agent ko bol hamare jaane ki sab tayari shuru kar de"

"Pakka na?" Chetna asked

"Haa.." Aarav replied and moved towards his house. He reached home but his sister had closed the door in his face.

He gets annoyed "Suhani darwaza khol.. Andar aane de mujhe"

"Nahi veere.. Pehle tum wada karo tum videsh nahi jaoge" she complained. Aarav assumed his father had informed them about it.

He knows she won't open the door. He goes to Chetna house which was next door and goes to the terrace. He jumps to his and then comes downstairs. He sees his father sitting on the chair, Aarav sits on the floor beside him and smiled "bauji.. Aapke dost Sukhwinder chacha ka beta bhi toh Canada mein hai na.. Dekho aaj yahan pe unka khudka makan hai.. Ab toh wo Delhi bhi jaa rahe hai"

"Haan toh? Lekin unka beta lohdi, diwali pe ghar toh nahi aata hai.. Aankhein taras jaati hai uski apne bete se milne ke liye.. Paisa hi sab kuch nahi hota hai samjha" he said angrily.

"Par sapne hote hai na?? Aapko bachpan se dekhta aaya hun kaam karte hue.. Ye kiraye ka makaan.. Aur phir Suhani ki bhi toh shaadi karni hai na humhe? Jitna mujhe delhi mein milega usse dugna waha london mein mil raha hai bauji.. Jis din mujhe lagega bahut kama liya maine aapke paas maa ke paas wapas laut aaunga" He promises.

"Are tauji aap chinta kyun karte ho?? Main hun na uska dhyan rakhungi kaan pakadke wapas bhi le aaungi.." Chetna said entering the house.

Aarav smiled upon hearing her words. He finally gets convinced and Aarav hugs him.
