"Alright, you got this. You know Gidget better than anyone, probably better than me," Max spoke softly to Tiberius. Gesturing to the two Pomeranians who were waiting for the test, the Jack Russell terrier continued, "Please, just find the real Gidget, our Gidget. Bring her home to us."
"Ya know, we wouldn't be having this problem if you actually knew your girlfriend," Duke commented. At the same time, Tiberius signed something to Max. Frowning, the terrier murmured, "I don't understand sign language." Biting her lip, Chloe coughed and reported, "Um, I think he called you a horrible boyfriend and something along the lines of a mousebrain. But mostly he commented on you being a horrible boyfriend."
"Thanks man," Max muttered, offended. Patting the Jack Russell terrier on the head, Tiberius walked over to where Snowball was talking to the two Pomeranians. "Girls, this is a simple test. You will hold out your paws like you did earlier," the rabbit explained the rules, "Then I want you to step back. Tiberius, you're gonna follow whoever is the real Gidget."
"Easy," one of the Pomeranians declared, holding out her paw. The other seemed to be praying as she did the same. Tiberius approached them quietly. Both dogs stayed still as the old hawk sniffed their paws before backing away. "Come on," the one on the right beckoned, "It's me bestie." Giving her a glare, the red tail ignored her and followed the one on the left. Happiness swelling up inside of her, Gidget wrapped her arms around her friend's neck as she whispered, "Thank you bestie."
"No no no, absolutely not!" Trixie barked. Bunching her muscles together, she lunged at Gidget with the intent to kill. However, Max was quicker as he leapt to his girlfriend's aid, knocking Trixie away. Pinning the Pomeranian before she had a chance to retaliate, the terrier growled, "Stay down." Defeated, Trixie allowed herself to be dragged away with Gary by Mel, Buddy and Duke. Watching them be taken away, Snowball dusted his paws and declared, "Thank goodness that's over."
"And now the couple is back together, perfect," Chloe grumbled sarcastically, allowing Pops to help her walk. Nearby, Max and Gidget were hugging each other. Nuzzling his girlfriend lovingly, Max mumbled, "I'm so sorry about everything. I should've known you were missing."
"It's okay Max, I'm home now," Gidget reassured him, "And I'm with you again. That's all that matters now." Watching the couple, most of the gang said at the same time, "Aww..."
"It's still gross for everyone else," Pops pointed out.
The End
