Her paws silent on the floorboards, Gidget walked down the hallway. She had made sure to leave using the fire escape so the other pets would think she was actually heading home. Then she had gone back inside when she reached an open first floor window. Arriving at the basement door, she opened it and headed down the stairs, completely unaware that she had a hidden shadow. Hopping up and flipping the light switch, Gidget looked around. Even with the light now on, the basement was still a little dark. Plus, there was a lot of stuff down here. Frowning slightly, she flicked her ear as she murmured, "Where is your secret lab Snowball..." Turning on her serious face, the Pomeranian began searching around.

Sniffing the dusty air, Gidget quickly held back a sneeze before it could escape. Growling quietly, she wandered around the basement. As far as she could tell, there was no sign of a hidden secret lab down here.  Walking right up to the wall, she touched it and felt around, hoping to find a secret button or something just as a voice remarked, "Lost?" Jumping out of her skin, Gidget whirled around to find the red tailed hawk. She unfortunately couldn't remember his name as she murmured, "Oh, sorry Tobias. Didn't see you there."

"It's Tiberius, not Tobias," Tiberius grumbled. Crossing his wings over his chest, the hawk tilted his head to the side as he asked, "Did you get lost looking for your apartment right across the street from here or did you lose something down here?" Giggling as she padded over to him, Gidget commented, "You know me so well pal! Always getting lost."

"Uh huh, sure."

"Actually, I thought I heard a strange voice coming from here. I went to investigate," Gidget lied, batting her sky blue eyes. His face completely emotionless, Tiberius glanced around the basement as he commented, "Really? Well, this place is haunted apparently, according to Snowball and some of the others." Giggling again, Gidget wagged her tail and replied, "You're so funny. We should hang out tomorrow, maybe get some tacos. You love tacos, right?"

"Not really. I can't handle spicy foods like you guys."

"It'll be fun, come on bestie."

"How about you head home before you're late for your appointment?"

"Okay, I'll see you tomorrow Tobias," Gidget responded, wagging her tail. Rolling his eyes, Tiberius followed the small dog upstairs. Shutting the door to the basement, the hawk muttered, "Yeah, whatever. Hey Gidget, by the way, I have something to tell you." Smiling, Gidget went up to the old hawk as he lowered his head. Keeping his voice low, Tiberius hissed threateningly in her ear, "I don't know who you are but I know you're not Gidget. I will find out what you did with her and I will make you pay..." Without another word, he walked away.

Watching as the red tailed hawk walked away, the fake Gidget growled under her breath, "No, you'll be the one to pay..."
