♾️ Jughead ♾️Over the next few days, I really got sick.
It started off with a runny nose and some sore throat. I managed with that. The next day, headaches followed. I couldn't get out of bed anymore.
When I couldn't stand the cramps anymore though, I forced myself out of bed to go downstairs and make myself a hot water bottle. Betty walked in the kitchen, seeing me.
"Everything okay?"
"Mhm... just not feeling well"
"Oh no, now you're sick" Betty whined "I'm sorry, Jug. You probably got that from me"
"I've been t...that for a couple of days by now, I t-think" By now it just got to the point where I couldn't sleep it off anymore without anything, like a hot water bottle.
"How are you feeling then?"
"Not good...? I don't know. I just... I'm tired but I can't sleep because my head is throbbing and my stomach hurts too. But we've run out of painkillers and I didn't feel like driving, so... I've just been vegetating, not knowing what to do"
"How about you tell me about it, so that I could drive to the pharmacy?"
"Yeah... that's an option, I guess..." I mumbled and she nodded, reaching me the hot water bottle. I took it, holding it against my stomach.
"Okay, how about you go back to bed and I just drive over to the pharmacy and get you some painkillers and once I'm back I'll make you a chicken soup to make you feel better, does that sound like a deal?" I hummed and then got up to go back to my bed.
I was half asleep by the time that Betty knocked on the door. She came in shortly after and walked over to me.
"Hey, are you awake?" I hummed, rolling around to face her. She smiled softly "I got you some painkillers. They should help you" I nodded, sitting up slightly to take the pill and swallow it down with a glass of water, which I drank completely.
"Thank you, Betty"
"Of course. You took care of me when I was sick too, didn't you? I'm just repaying you" she smiled softly "try to sleep some. I'll wake you for dinner then. I'll make chicken soup, yeah?"
"Mhm... okay"
❤️🖤❤️
The painkillers helped, a lot. By the time that the sun rose again, I was able to act like a normal human being. I went downstairs for breakfast, even though I didn't eat much, and then went to wash the dishes like normally.
"How are you feeling today? Are you better?" Betty asked and I nodded, giving her a thumbs up as I put away a mug "that's good. I'm glad. So... Veronica invited me to stay over for today. And I was thinking of saying yes. I wanted to ask you first though because I didn't know how you are holding up"
"I'm good, so, uhm go ahead, I guess"
She hesitated.
"This is not because of you, yeah? It's just that Veronica and I haven't seen one another in a while, not to forget because of us, you know?"
"Yeah I know"
I cut Archie short too.
"So you agree?"
"Yes, sure. Go to Veronica. I'll be fine. Don't worry"
I was not fine.
Not even an hour later and I was pacing through the whole house. When did I get so dependent on her? I thought about texting her too but in the end I didn't because she was just gone one hour — one bloody hour. There was no reason to text her unless it was an emergency. And this was no emergency.
