Chapter 07

♾ Veronica ♾

I had already started to make lunch, when I heard noises. I turned around and then saw Betty standing in the hallway, still wearing my pink pajamas. She rubbed her eyes and smiled at me.

"Morning B, I have good news" I smiled at her and she froze.

"What news, V?" she asked, walking over to me.

"Well..."

I woke up early today but I didn't want to wake up Betty, so I left the bedroom and then walked in the main room, making myself breakfast and then watch TV. Though at some point, my phone rang. Archie was calling me. I turned off the volume of the TV and then accepted the call.

"Morning, Arch, everything okay?" I asked.

"Morning to you too, babe. Everything is better then okay, to be honest! He woke up Veronica!" I could hear the smile that was on his face.

"Wait, what?! Really??"

"Yeah, I just walked inside after breakfast and there he was, laying awake. I mean, he is till weak and sleepy but awake"

"That's amazing! As soon as Betty wakes up, I'll come to the hospital. It's just that I don't want to wake her up"

"Okay, I'll stay here" he said, yawning after.

"Didn't get much sleep?" I asked and he only hummed no before saying that he couldn't really sleep much the whole night because he was worried about Jughead "Aww, my poor baby. You're gonna get some extra kisses when we're coming. And... thank you, for the call and for staying with him. Betty really needed a day off"

"While you were still asleep, Archie called me. And when he went to the hospital this morning, Jughead was awake"

"H-He is awake?" I nodded "We have to visit him. I want to see him. Why didn't you tell me sooner?? Why didn't you wake me up??" she yelled as I stopped her from walking over to the hallway.

"Calm down, B. I will let Smithers drive us to him after you ate something, okay?" she shook her head.

"No no, I want to visit him right now"

"Remember that you carry a baby in this belly? You gotta take care of it now. So stop stressing, he's awake and he's gonna be fine, Archie is with him. Now eat some breakfast, he's not gonna run away from the hospital" she sighed but gave in.

"Yeah, okay... fine. But after breakfast, we will immediately drive to the hospital, okay?"

"Deal. Now let's eat" she leaned back in the chair and looked at me while I finished the food. Once it was finished, I divided it in two plates before reaching Betty one. She sighed.

"What is it, B?" I asked.

"I really hate you for forcing me to eat first before I can see him" she pouted and I chuckled.

"Come on, I'm just taking care of your baby"

"I know V... but Jughead is-" I cut her off.

"He's the love of your life and he stands above everyone and everything, I know I know. Bit he's gonna be fine, don't worry" she sighed but then started eating. After we finished, I put both plates in the sink.
