♾ Jughead ♾The wedding, the whole baby stuff, the furniture, the funeral from Sweat Pea — where we had to pay too because the Serpents are a family... — It all costed money, which is running out and that not slowly. However, I didn't want to stress her out, so I thought that it would be enough if I take care or that on my own — which wasn't right, I know. I could barely pay the wedding and for the house we have to pay monthly. Veronica and I had a call. She said that she could fill in as an emergency solution, even though I didn't want her to.
I was sitting on the couch like so often this week, searching for a job I could do at home. I couldn't go away from here. I mean, I have to take care of Betty and the stuff she can't do, you know cleaning the house, getting food, things like that. Now it's maybe possible but Betty's belly will grow, she will need more help, which I have to — and want to — do then, then she will give birth, she will have a baby soon- we will have a baby soon, and we need to take care of them too. I just couldn't afford that from her, not now at least. We never talked about school since everything happened. I mean, Betty is finishing school online, which I could do too... I'll think about that later. But I'll do it, probably when our child is older, so it doesn't need too much help anymore.
"What are you doing, Juggy?" Betty asked, sitting down with a smoothie in her hand. I guess, something with cucumber or something else in green. No idea how she can swallow that.
"Milkshakes are definitely better, Betty" I simply said, closing my laptop.
"I know, but I have to take more vitamins because our little baby needs it" I chuckled.
"Yeah yeah, I know" she leaned on me and rested her head on my shoulder.
"But really, what are you doing?"
"Oh uh nothing" I stuttered out.
"You lie really bad, Juggy" I snorted silently. If only she would know. I've been keeping so much from her... "Are you keeping secrets from me?" she asked, lifting up her head to peck me on the lips. I shook my head, chuckling.
"What? Me? No, I would never.I'm just scrolling through the news"
"News about a website, who searches for new workers to hire?" she asked, opening the laptop again.
"Yeah?"
"You could have just said that you are searching for a job, babe. I could have helped"
"I just didn't want to worry you. Oh and I won't go away, I'll only work online, don't worry. I want to be there for you and our baby"
"Juggy, if you want to go work, outside from our house, then you can"
"No, I'll stay here and help you" Betty chuckled.
"That's sweet but you don't have to take care of me 24/7. You know that, right?"
"Maybe not now but sooner or later you will need it. Especially if you're belly has grown and you can't clean the house anymore, for example" I reasoned. She sighed and took my hands in hers, giving it a light squeeze.
"But I don't have to be watched over the whole time. You can go out for a job, okay? You don't have to be stuck in this house. Do what is best for you, alright?"
