I boarded the plane with my glasses on because I knew that if my dad saw my eyes, he'd know straight away that i was hungover and that was not a conversation that i was willing to have today.

As far as everyone else knew i was perfectly holding it together, i didn't want them to know that i was falling apart inside. I took a seat away from everyone else but in true Lewis fashion he decided to take the seat right next to me, we didn't speak for the majority of the flight which i was grateful for as all i could think about and focus on was the fact that i would have to see Max this weekend.

When i woke up this morning i had multiple missed calls from Max which i expected, I felt so stupid for calling him but i couldn't explain why i did it, it was like every time i had been drinking something just made me want to hear his voice or be around him. It wasn't something i was proud of and every part of me wanted to stop doing it but i just couldn't.

"Something on your mind?" Lewis asked as he nudged me to snapped me out of my thoughts.

I sighed and took off my glasses. Lewis looked at me and shook his head instinctively.

"Oh, better put them back on before he notices" he said nodding towards my dad.

I didn't mind Lewis knowing that i was hungover as i knew he wouldn't say anything to anyone, and anyway i definitely wasn't going to tell him i was really thinking about Max.

I felt so much better once we landed so i went straight to the hotel with everyone else, I didn't really have much to do so i was just going to lounge around and try to fully get rid of my hangover.

As i walked through the hotel I noticed Charles and Pierre talking so i went straight over to them, at least i could waste part of my day with them.

"There she is" Charles announced as i approached them both.

He had a beaming smile on his face and placed his arm around my waist. It felt comforting, unconsciously i leant into him.

We all chilled out for a little while just catching up with each other until Pierre went off for some PR things leaving me and Charles together.

"It's good to be back isn't it" Charles said as we took a seat in the hotel lounge.

"Yeah, it actually is" I replied back to him with a smile.

He was right it was really nice to be back, I was looking forward to going to the paddock tomorrow i never thought i would but I'd really missed the buzz of all the people and sounds of engines roaring.

Before we continued our conversation, we both noticed Max walking towards us, clearly he was staying in the same hotel. I knew I'd have to face him eventually after calling him last night but today wasn't the day i wanted to do it.

"Want me to stay?" Charles asked cautiously.

I shook my head indicating that i was okay he just smiled back and got up to walking off as Max got to me.

Max looked tired i could tell by the look in his eyes. He took the seat next to me and we awkwardly sat there not saying a word to each other, every part of me want to wrap myself up in his arms i missed him so much but that wasn't an option. It wouldn't be an option ever again.

"So, you're okay then?" i knew exactly what he was referring to but i chose to ignore it.

"Yeah, great thanks" i replied sarcastically, i could have so easily said no but i chose the easy way out.

Max laughed to himself and shook his head. "I'll leave you to it then" his expression didn't change at all it was like he was blankly staring through me.

Before i could even reply he got up leaving me sat there on my own.

The next few days at testing didn't go as well as everyone hoped, the car just didn't perform as expected so everyone was in a terrible mood. Id completed all the work that i needed to so there was no need for me to stick around so i decided to head back to the hotel early. I was meant to be going to dinner with Charles, Pierre, and Caterina but i just didn't feel like going so i decided to message Charles and cancel.

Me: Hey! not feeling so great so just going to stay in tonight.

Charles didn't reply he was probably still busy at the track or with media responsibilities. For once i was actually happy to be by myself, i was able to relax. I was just about to fall asleep when there was a knock at the door, I wasn't expecting anyone and at first i was just going to ignore it but then there was a knock again so i assumed it must be important.

As i opened the door Charles was stood there with a take-away. "I thought you might be hungry" he said with a beaming smile on his face.

We laid on the bed talking about testing and eating, eventually we decided to just relax together and watch a film. I couldn't even remember falling asleep, but when i woke up i was wrapped up in Charles' arms. It was a soothing feeling, it was nice. I decided not to wake him and just went back to sleep.
