Tamia Ford
Midnight (12am)

"Baby." I heard Yasin's deep voice call as I laid in bed, trying to force myself asleep.

"Hm?" I answered softly, laying on my side as he came over to my side, sitting down on the bed while I looked up into his eyes.

"I'm bout' leave and go handle this shit." He said to me and I tucked my lips in nervousness before I sat up completely to look into his eyes.

"What are you going to do?" I couldn't help but to say softly as he licked his busted lip before speaking.

"Sum' that been needed to happen, ma."

"But I'm gon' finish that shit tonight then I'm gon' come home to you and um.." He trailed off, licking his lips slowly.

"We gon' talk like I know we need to, baby."

"Cause I did sum' fucked up shit to you, Mi and that shit.." He trailed off, trying to gather his words

"That shit just don't sit right with me, ma." He ended up saying and I nodded my head slowly, allowing him to express himself.

"So when I come home, I'm gon' right my wrongs with you and I want to make this shit work, ma."

"I want to make us work." He clarified, looking deeply into my eyes with every word.

"We got a baby on the way, ma."

"And I'm done arguing with you and treating you like a throw away, Mi." He scoffed, shaking his head.

"Because truth is, I can't do this shit without you."

"All of this shit is for you, Tamia."

"None of this shit mean nothing, if I can't have you." He lifted my chin with his finger as he looked deeply into my eyes.

"That's why you tattooed on my face, that's why you tattooed on my heart, baby."

"And that's why you gon' have my baby."

"Because I love you, ma."

"To death." He went on and I couldn't help but to cry as tears poured down my face now softly while I looked up in to his eyes.

It was like, he was saying all of the right things right now and they all felt so great to finally hear. I mean, all I'd ever wanted from him was him to communicate and express his feelings this way.

All I ever wanted was him and his emotional side.

Not his material side. With gifts, money, clothes and bags. All while he treated me like he didn't even care about me.

All I wanted was him.

Now it'd finally seemed like he was ready to give that to me once he saw that I would really walk out of his life earlier at his moms.

But it all just felt like it was too late now.

"I'm tired of seeing tears in your fuckin' eyes, man." He took a deep breath, turning away from me before he turned back to me and gently wiped my tears away.

"I'm tired of making you cry, baby."

"I want to make you smile." He went on with his words as I tucked my lips in sadness, wiping my face clear of the loose tears that'd fell.

As I did, he leaned in and began kissing the fresh tears away before he pulled me in for a hug.

"We gon' do better, ma."

"I promise you." He spoke softly to me as he placed a kiss against my forehead.

"I love you, Tamia."
