Abhisek's voice trembled with desperation as he grabbed Siddharth by the shoulders.
Abhisek: You had met her—then why didn't you bring her back? Why?Siddharth lowered his gaze, avoiding his brother's piercing eyes. His voice was heavy with sorrow.
Siddharth: Because... she doesn't want to come.Abhisek stepped back in disbelief, his voice rising.
Abhisek: What nonsense are you talking?Siddharth looked down, his throat tightening.
Siddharth: I am telling the truth, Dada. She just... doesn't want to come.Abhisek's heart pounded with frustration. His voice cracked.
Abhisek: Why?Siddharth opened his mouth but no words came. A long silence followed.
Abhisek: I am asking you something, Ashu!
Siddharth: ...
Tears welled in Abhisek's eyes. Anger mixed with helplessness.
Abhisek: Ashu, this is not the time to play this silent game. Please, for God's sake, open your mouth and speak!Siddharth clenched his fists, his voice breaking.
Siddharth: Because she... Forget it, Dada.Abhisek grabbed him again, pleading now.
Abhisek: Because she what, Ashu?Siddharth: Nothing, Dada.
Abhisek shook his head stubbornly, tears finally escaping.
Abhisek: No, Ashu. Today, you have to tell me why Akshu doesn't want to come back.Siddharth stood frozen, unable to speak
Abhisek: Ashu!
Siddharth's POV
Now I can't handle Dada anymore. He won't stop... I have to do something.
Suddenly, Siddharth took Abhisek's hand and placed it on his own head, his voice trembling.
Siddharth: You have my swear, Dada. You will never ask me about the reason why Akshu doesn't want to come back. And you will not tell anyone about Akshu.Abhisek blinked in shock, shaking his head slowly.
Abhisek: But... Ashu...Siddharth tightened his grip.
Siddharth: You have my swear.Abhisek took a deep breath, defeated.
Abhisek: ... Okay.Siddharth tried to smile faintly through the pain.
Siddharth: It's quite late. We should go home.Abhisek walked silently toward the bike, feeling empty. Siddharth followed. The ride back home was silent; each lost in their own thoughts.
On the Way
Siddharth's POV
I'm sorry, Dada. I know I've hurt you by not telling the reason. But if you knew... you'd be more heartbroken. I'm protecting you. Please understand... I am sorry.
They reached home. Siddharth stood waiting at the main door as Abhisek parked the bike. A few minutes later, Abhisek came. He looked at Siddharth—pain, trust, and confusion in his eyes.
As he moved to open the door, Siddharth's voice stopped him.
Siddharth: Dada...Abhisek turned slowly. Siddharth walked up to him, his voice choked. He held Abhisek's hand tightly.
Siddharth: Dada, I'm sorry. I can't tell you the reason. But I promise—I will bring our Akshu back. Please... trust me.Abhisek pulled his brother into a hug, his voice full of warmth and pain.
Abhisek: I trust you, Ashu. I trust you more than I trust myself.Abhisek broke the hug and cupped his Siddharth's face.
Abhisek: Just remember one thing—at every stage of your life, in every situation, you will always find your Dada beside you. As your support system. Always.
