Abhisek rushed to the doctor the moment he stepped out of Siddharth's room.
Abhisek: How is Ashu, doctor? Everything is fine, right?
The doctor looked at them gravely.
Doctor: When was the last time he had a proper meal?
Vibha exchanged a nervous glance with Abhisek.
Vibha: Umm... doctor... I... I don't exactly know.
Abhisek's heart clenched. "What is it, doctor? Is anything serious?"
The doctor exhaled softly.
Doctor: He became unconscious due to severe weakness. He hasn't eaten properly in days.
Abhisek felt the floor slip from beneath him. "What?!" he gasped.
Doctor: I've also taken his blood for testing—just in case there's something more. We'll know soon.
Ranveer nodded. "Thank you, doctor."
Abhisek: Any medicines?
Doctor: No, just make sure he eats full meals regularly.
Vibha: Okay, doctor.
Ranveer escorted the doctor out, while Vibha hurried to the home temple, her eyes brimming with tears.
Abhisek quietly slipped into Siddharth's room. As he entered, his gaze fell on his brother's pale face. His heart broke.
Sitting beside him, Abhisek whispered, his voice trembling.
I'm so sorry, Ashu... I was so lost in my own grief that I didn't notice... you were handling everything alone. I'm sorry. But I promise, from now on, you will never be alone again. I will always be with you.Just then, Siddharth stirred. His eyelids fluttered open.
Abhisek leaned in. "Ashu... bacha..."
Siddharth's voice was weak. "Dada..."
Abhisek helped him sit upright and enveloped him in a protective hug.
Siddharth: Dada... I'm fine.
Abhisek's voice broke. "I'm so sorry, Ashu. When you needed me the most... I wasn't there. I failed as a brother."
Siddharth pulled back gently, wiping his Dada's tears with trembling fingers.
Siddharth: Dada, don't blame yourself. It wasn't your fault. You are my strength. If you break down like this... what will happen to me?
Abhisek looked at him, eyes glistening. "Then why, Ashu... if I'm your strength, why didn't you take care of yourself?"
Siddharth lowered his gaze. "Dada... I..."
Abhisek pressed. "You don't have an answer, do you?"
Siddharth shook his head faintly. "Let's not talk about this, Dada... please, for me."
A beat of silence. Then Abhisek wiped his tears away and his expression hardened.
Abhisek: You're right. It's not my mistake. It's your mistake!
Siddharth looked confused. "Huh?"
Abhisek crossed his arms. "Yes. It's your mistake. If I hadn't been here, would you have kept neglecting yourself like this?"
Siddharth tried to speak. "But Dada—"
Abhisek interrupted firmly. "You just shut up."
Siddharth blinked, startled.
