July 16, 2010, Boston

Stevie sat along the windowsill of her hotel room, overlooking the city views of Boston. They'd just checked in, and Karen was buzzing around getting all her things organized before heading to her own room. The suite was noticeably more quiet, her daughter currently on her way to Phoenix with Lori to spend the next few weeks with her grandma before school started. Stevie missed her already, but couldn't deny that she also missed the alone time she got to spend on tour. And doing it all without any parental responsibilities brought her back too.

"Karen?" She asked while looking out the window.

"Yeah?"

"How do I delete text messages..."

Karen turned to her with a raised brow and curious look, "Why? I didn't think you even knew how to send them."

"I don't. I'm just curious. Do they stay there forever on the phones?"

"No," Karen laughed, "You can delete them just like you can delete emails."

"Oh. How would I do that?"

"You're acting very strange, Stevie..."

"Just wondering!"

"There's a button that literally says delete on the screen. Get me your phone, I'll show you."

"No!" Stevie screeched standing up quickly, "I mean, no that's fine. I don't care that much. You know I'll never use it."

Karen eyed her again, unsure what this was about but way too exhausted to prod any further. Instead, she finished unpacking and organizing the boxes she was focused on so she could finally retreat to her own room before dinnertime hit.

Lindsey stood in the middle of his hotel room, overwhelmed by the sounds of his three kids buzzing all around loudly. After two nights in New York, he was already tired and in desperate need of some quiet time before tomorrow's show in Boston. He was also in desperate need of some alone time with Stevie, though he really couldn't figure out how to make that happen with his every move being monitored.

"We're just ordering room service tonight, right?" He asked Kristen as she rooted through her suitcase.

"Lindsey. I told you three times, we're having dinner with Mick and Lynne at the restaurant downstairs. Casey and the kids are ordering room service."

"Kit, I'm seriously exhausted. Can't we do dinner another night with them?"

"Seriously, Lindsey? Lynne and I have been talking about this all day. It's just downstairs, relax."

He groaned, falling back against the sofa cushion as he reached for his phone. Staring at the screen longingly, he decided to text Stevie, his mind unable to steer away from thoughts of her anymore.

Are you alone?

When she didn't answer him after 15 minutes, he sighed and finally succumbed to getting ready for dinner with Mick and Lynne, she must've been out with the girls or something. The entire ride to Boston, he'd fantasized about ways to get her alone here as the two of them met eyes across the plane. Now, it was becoming clear those fantasies were not going to be as easy to play out as he'd hoped.

Meeting up with Mick and Lynne downstairs, the four of them walked through the lobby towards the hotel's restaurant. Just as they were about to turn the corner, Lindsey caught sight of Stevie closely chatting up Mark, a sound tech who was part of their crew on the tour. Raising his brow, he looked around to see if she was with anyone else - but to his surprise, she appeared to be alone with him.
