August 13, 2010, Las Vegas

"Vegas, we're back!" Mick cheered as they all stood up to deboard the plane.

Stevie flinched, the feeling of Lindsey's fingers pressing into her lower back subtly when nobody was looking. She paused, lingering ahead of him as his hand roamed lower while the rest of the band scattered out loudly ahead of them. After two nights apart in Phoenix, the tension between them was slowly building again — their time spent there surprisingly sweet. Stevie always felt particularly nostalgic when she was back in Arizona, but there was something about spending time there with her daughter, Lindsey, and mom this time around that felt different. She'd been longing to get Lindsey alone for the last two days, her sudden neediness for him unnerving.

"Could you use some company settling into your hotel room, Miss Nicks?" His voice whispered behind her.

She smiled while staring straight ahead, "Hm, I could use some assistance, yes."

"Good."

She scrunched her nose with a sly smirk as she turned around to face him briefly before turning to go down the plane's staircase. He couldn't help but melt at the way she looked at him, his current need for her just as strong. They each filed into different cars to their hotel, and he grimaced finding himself riding with John instead of Stevie, Karen, and Christine. Instead, he spent the entire ride counting down to the moment when he would get to knock at her hotel room door soon.

~~~~~~~
"One second!!!" Her voice called from the other side of the door.
Lindsey shifted his position anxiously, letting his fist down from knocking on her door as he stood in the hallway. He had hoped he would get here earlier, but he was held up with a phone call from his wife as he walked into his own hotel room, surely on edge at the fact that he was in Vegas now. He knew she didn't trust him around Stevie anymore, but the thought of him in Vegas with all the partying temptation and women at every corner? She was probably losing her mind.
"Hey," Stevie finally opened the door, completely out of breath.
"Everything okay?" He laughed.
"Digging through my suitcase to find something."
"Something...for me?" He grinned, taking a step into her.
"Linds," she pushed him back swiftly with her hand, "I'm not alone."
"What?"
She motioned her head backwards, "Karen is here, my vocal coach can only do warmup now instead of at the venue tonight."
His face fell.
"I know," she whispered, "Sorry, I didn't realize..."
"Should I come back?"
"I don't think I'll have time before the show...after? I'll make it up to you?"
He groaned, biting his lip, "Tease."
She smirked, stepping further into him and looking up to meet his eyes, "I'll make it worth the wait."
He ran a single finger down her nose playfully, bopping the tip before slowly running it down the center of her chest. She swallowed nervously at the feeling, goosebumps already forming down her arms.
"Someone could see," she whispered.
"I know, that's why I'm not taking you right here and now like I want to."
"Now who's the tease?" She whined.
"See you later," he winked playfully before turning on his heels to walk away.
