"Look who it is," Christine teased as Stevie walked in the house with Karen by her side. "Is she strolling in late because she's having trouble walking after a long weekend with her new boytoy?"
"Christine!" Stevie shrieked, setting her coffee tumbler down on the table. "Stop it!"
Mick's head whipped around in amusement, "We deserve the dirty details, Stevie."
"There are NO dirty details," she scoffed, "I am a LADY."
Lindsey continued to stare down at the soundboard, pretending to be completely enamored by its buttons and lost in his own world. She knew he was listening to every word intently. She waited for him to turn around and say hi to her but when he didn't, she sat down and pretended to ignore him as well.
"We don't buy that for a second," Christine giggled.
"Seriously guys," Stevie sighed, "Nothing happened."
It wasn't totally the truth, they did kiss. A lot. But nobody needed to know that.
"You expect us to believe that?" Mick grinned.
She rolled her eyes, "I came here to WORK today. The month-long countdown is officially on til our due date. Where's John?"
"Can't make it today," Christine shrugged, "Sailing away from us probably."
Stevie's eyes went back to Lindsey as she swayed her leg back and forth. She wasn't going to be the one to cave, instead she waited for him to say something to her. A few more minutes of chatter between Mick and Christine went by before Lindsey finally turned around, his eyes briefly catching Stevie's as he played it cool.
"I want to try something," he announced, reaching for his guitar, "I just had this idea for a riff on Everybody Finds Out."
Stevie bit her lip, watching him intently, her mouth firmly pressed shut. He didn't wait for any questions before lifting the guitar into his lap. She watched as his large hands gripped the instrument, lost in her own thoughts about how they looked so similar gripping the flesh of her waist. Her breath caught in the back of her throat as she watched his fingers begin to strum at the strings, vigorously increasing in speed. Again, she tried not to let her mind wander to the way those same fingers would play her. His eyes closed as he continued to strum harder and harder, and suddenly she swore it was about 20 degrees hotter in the room, her hand running across the back of her clammy neck to attempt to cool it down. Get it together, Stevie, she screamed internally at herself, staring down at her own lap instead now.
"Stevie?" Lindsey's voice called for the second time and she finally realized the music had stopped, "Earth to Stevie? What do you think?"
"Huh?" She looked up quickly, completely flustered, "Oh, I think it's great."
"You do?" I was thinking for after the second verse?"
"Mhm yeah, absolutely what I thought too. Is it hot in here? I'm dying," she looked around at everyone else.
"I'm fine," Christine shrugged.
"You know what? I'm going to just get a breath of fresh air for a second out back. I'll be right back, you guys uh keep on going," she scrambled, standing up and quickly shuffling out of the room much to everyone's confusion.
What the fuck was wrong with her? Clearly, she needed to get some sexual release, she knew she should have just slept with Andrew over the weekend to get these pent-up feelings out of her system. But the truth was, she really didn't want to. And the even harder truth was, she knew there was only one person who would really relieve the sexual tension she was feeling at the moment.
