"Away, away, from men and towns,
To the wild wood and the downs, -
To the silent wilderness,
Where the soul need not repress
Its music."
-Percy Bysshe Shelley

The afternoon sun had reached it's peak in the sky as I'd made my way down the path I usually went to enter the forest.

My footsteps had begun to make a permanent indent in the grass in just a little over two weeks.

It was a Monday, which meant I had had cotillion that morning. As usual, it was a bore.

We worked on sitting and standing, ways to introduce oneself, writing correspondents and a bunch of other frivolous nonsense I pretended to memorize.

Madam Dupont had knitted her eyebrows together when I shook my leg restlessly as I practiced using the "correct" grammar in my letters.

I couldn't help it. I craved movement. To get out of the four walls that seemed to smother me. And I couldn't understand how Lucius, Draco, & Madam Dupot could be so still for so long and not go mad.

For that matter, who wanted to follow such soul crushing ettiequte? Was I mad? Or was everyone else around me mad?

I'd practically flew out the door when the three hours were up. I ran up to my room to change clothes—Madam Dupot always requested I wear restrictive dresses & heels that pinched my toes— and had to hold myself back from lighting a fire in my bedroom fireplace and chucking the gloves into it.

Then I went to the kitchen and practically inhaled the sandwiches left on the counter, not bothering to sit down as I ate, then sprinted out the door.

Although we usually had breakfast and dinner together at the table, lunch was more of a casual affair on weekdays. I hadn't bumped into either of the Malfoy's on my way out and I thanked Merlin for my good luck.

"Y/N!" I heard a shout from behind me.

I'd spoken too soon.

I cursed myself for jinxing it.

I didn't turn around, hoping the person who's familiar voice carried on the wind into my ears would decide against pursuing me.

Alas, Draco jogged up to my side as I reached the edge of the forest.

"Hello?" Draco huffed in sarcasm.

I stopped and stepped away from him.

He was slightly out of breath from running up to me, his hands were on his hips while his shoulders and chest rose and fell.

"Merlin are you deaf or just ignoring me on purpose," Draco said with irritation.

No and Yes.

"I didn't hear sorry," I said without emotion.

He grinned at me like he could tell my fib.

As he caught his breath I asked, "What?"

"What do you mean what?" he said with a scowl.

"What do you want?" I asked with confusion.

He laughed shoving his hands in his pockets and squinting at me through the sun.

"I thought I'd tag along is all," he responded.

"Why?" I inquired.

"Im rather bored. Plus I would love to watch you climb a tree."

I frowned.

I'd rather he didn't.

"Why? So that you could have a good laugh?" I said accusingly.
