Hello ALL!
I had a horrible week and sometimes I wish I could literally live in the worlds I read about.

When someone is mean to me I think "Lucius or Draco would NEVER treat me this way." Well... maybe in the movies and books they would. And Otto definitely would.......

LOL

Anyways, hope you enjoy!!! Eeeee

Much love,
FJ

"Your neck looks better," Lucius commented.

I glanced at him and he was still looking at his newspaper.

"It is," I said as I concentrated very hard on putting butter on my toast.

'Better' was an understatement. The burn had completely healed overnight from the salve.

After I'd fled the dining room, I returned to my own quarters to find another canister of it on my bedside table.

It had instantly made the burn feel better and by the time I woke the next morning it was completely healed.

"It's an old family formula—my grandfather was always experimenting with different potions and tweaking well known ones to make them more effective. This is just one of the dozens of topicals he made—even dabbled in liquid pain relievers," Lucius explained, "Still he almost blew up the manor a great many times with his experiments...according to my grandmother."

I gave a half smile, but when his eyes caught my own my smile faded. I averted my eyes back to my breakfast.

It was only Lucius and I this morning.

Otto had gone into work early & skipped breakfast—which was usually the norm for him—while Draco was attending some Quiddach conditioning practice that started before sunrise.

I heard Lucius fold his paper and place it on the table. His chair groaned as he shifted in it.

"Are you feeling better today?" Lucius inquired.

I glanced at him and his eyes were on me as he held his coffee in his hand.

"Yes. I'm quite fine," I said evenly, placing my butter knife back on the plate.

A few moments of silence passed, though I could still feel him watching me.

I took a sip of my juice.

"Are you on your menstrual cycle?"

I inhaled my juice on accident and coughed like mad into my elbow as I grabbed a napkin.

What the fuck.

"Wha—You don't just—" I started, then stopped to pat my chest, coughing again into the napkin, then continued, "—ask someone that."

I coughed a couple more times.

"Why ever not? It's nothing to be ashamed of," Lucius insisted, perplexed.

"Because it's private," I argued in disbelief.

"Well if you're in pain because of it then you shouldn't suffer in silence."

Oh. Oh.

I'd been grabbing my stomach the night before and he must have thought I was having cramps. But I hadn't gotten my period.

It had been... something else.

Still—whatever he thought it had been, didn't excuse posing such a mortifying question.
