I'm always floored when I see I have a new reader(or even that ones that have read past chapters continue to read when I update). Thank you so much. It always means a lot.
Much love

Theodore Nott was currently in my bedroom...

He'd somehow ended up in the manor even though Draco was not here.

Draco had gone out to Diagon Alley for some exertion he'd invited me on, but I'd declined in favor of lounging in my room to read.

It was much too early for him to be back so Theodore's appearance at my open door was surprising, to say the least.

"Hey," he'd said as he almost walked past my room.

I looked up with confusion, at the voice I wasn't used to hearing.

"Y/N, right?" Theo confirmed as he leaned on the doorframe—much in the same way Draco had the tendency to do. I wonder if he'd picked it up from Draco, or if it was visa versa.

However, Theodore's posture was somehow more relaxed than Draco's. And he was much more charming in a natural sort of way I couldn't quite explain in words—the first time I met him, he was also wearing a lazy smile.

He had an overly cheery disposition that was slightly unsettling. Or was it more mischievous...

He was definitely some type of trouble.

"Yeah," I said hand still on my open book, "And you're... Theodore."

"Yeah but call me Theo," he said to me, then looked down at my lap as he inquired, "What are you reading?"

I turned the book to read the cover, "'Issues of Archeology and Tribal Dark Artifacts'... Delpha Welmberg"

"Ah—Welmberg. Let me guess— she's advocating for the return of artifacts found abroad and auctioned off by the British Ministry of Magic," he said crossing his arms.

"And...what? You think that's bad?"

"Bad? No. But preservation of historic artifacts is essential and the tribes they took them from usually don't have the resources to do just that."

"Welmberg says that's a colonial mentality to justify exploitation. I'd have to agree with her."

"That's true," he agreed with a shrug of indifference, "I can see both sides."

"What a diplomatic answer." I said flatly.

His smirk widened.

He stayed leaning on the frame, cranking his head to look around my room. It made me slightly insecure.

His eyes landed on the bookshelves.

"You've got quite a collection," he said, then looked to the stack of books on my dresser a few feet from the door.

"May I?" he asked but before I could answer he'd already walked in to peruse the titles and grabbed one with raised brows, then leaned against the dresser as he opened it.

"Odes For Lost Enchantments," he said reading the title to me with a glance, "Classic collection. Definitely a favorite of mine."

"Me too," I agreed.

"You have good taste," he said holding my gaze.

From the edge of my vision, I saw a figure walk past my room and then do a double take.

Otto.

He walked into my room without an invitation, looking at me then Theo.

"Theo. What happened to needing to quickly grab something you left in Draco's room? Taking quite a detour, aren't we?" he said flatly.
