"I can't wait to just lie on the couch and watch a movie."

With their hands clasped together, Kensi and Deeks walked towards Deeks's apartment door after a long and painful day at work. While stopping yet another terror plot, both Kensi and Deeks were involved in a fist fight, while Sam and Callen were in a gunfight at the other side of the building.

"Titanic again?" Deeks mocked her as he slid his hand away to open the door.

"I thought i'd let you pick this time."

"Yeah? That's a first. What i can't wait for is a shower."

Deeks limped into the living room with Kensi close behind. With his back against the back of the couch, he stretched his arms behind him and grabbed onto the top of the couch for balance. As he did so, he groaned in pain and winced at every little move he made.

"Deeks, you okay?" Kensi asked.

She walked towards him and realised that he had been taking deep breathes every time he stopped walking. Kensi stood inches away from him and placed her hands gently on his waist. Even though the touch was light, Deeks visibly flinched and looked away. Realising what was wrong, Kensi lifted the hem of his black tee shirt to see that his lower abdomen was almost covered in bruises.

"Oh my god, Deeks. Are you sure nothing's broken?"

"Wow, i didn't expect it to be that bad." He said softly as he looked down. "Kens, i'm fine."

"Fine? Deeks, you were basically hurled against a wall. Hell, you even broke the table when you landed on it!" Kensi raised her voice only to soften it when Deeks sighed and looked away. "Why didn't you tell me it was this bad?" She pulled his shirt back down and once again, placed her hands on his waist ever so gently.

"You mean like how you didn't tell me that you sprained your left ankle and tried to walk normally the whole way back here...just so i wouldn't worry about it?" Deeks grinned, knowing he'd caught her by surprise.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"Honest to god?"

Kensi hesitated and looked away before turning back to him. "mmhhmm."

Deeks's grin only grew wider but he wiped it off and pointed to her right foot. "Then why have you been standing on one foot this whole time?"

Kensi shook her head and glared at him before chuckling lightly. "Putting your detective skills to good use there, Sherlock?"

"You bet, Ms Blye."

Slowly, she slid her arms around to his lower back and leaned her body against against his, resting her head on his shoulder. Back still against the back of the couch, Deeks wrapped an arm around her lower back and the other around her shoulders. Deeks buried his face in her neck and they stayed that way, feeling the warmth of each other's bodies. Eyes closed, she felt his breath against her skin and somehow, she felt safe again. Kensi smiled softly against his shoulder.

"I love you" she whispered.

Deeks was taken aback at first. They had been together for almost five months and she had never said it first. Shock then turned into a kind of happiness he couldn't explain.

"I love you too." He said softly, kissing her neck gently before pulling away.

"Is this one of your moments?" Kensi asked jokingly.

"One of them. There's a lot more, i can assure you that, Fern." He winked and pressed his lips to her forehead.
