sonic was taunting the gang members that was close behind him trying his best to lure them into one of his traps he made before hand and to his luck it work as he jump over the pile of dirt and twigs that he purposely place on top and then.

the jackal and four wolfs was snag into a net that was lifted in the air and was now hanging in the tree.
sonic stop at his tracks and saw the five of them trying to comprehend what just happen to them as sonic gave them a cocky smile and wave telling them 'good luck getting out of that one bye now'

meanwhile two miles away:
shadow and his two trusted friends has just walk in a near by town with there horses to rest for the night and get a drink from the local saloon but notice that the bank of the town had a crowd around it as well as a few dead bodies laying around.
shadow: damn this town too?
shadow thought as he and his two friends went to the saloon and went up to the bartender and ask for three glass of whiskeys shadow then pass the two glasses to a white hedgehog and then the second one to the only female of the group that was a bat.
shadow: sigh....looks like this place has been rob too....rouge where's the next town after this one
rouge: thanks for the drink boss and the next town should be about 20 miles from here but we better be careful this time doe there's is a native tribe not to far from here
shadow: alright will have this and get moving again and silver don't piss off the natives this time when we pass them
silver: WHAT it wasn't my fault that the last tribe got pissy because I was flirting with one of there women
shadow: silver she was the chief's wife and you almost how should I say 'pork her'
shadow said as he remember the last tribe running after the three threating to scalp there fur off
silver: fine whatever I wont do anything to the ladies this time promise now hand me my drink already
the trio sat at an empty table and started sipping there drinks only to hear the mobians around them speak about what the three saw earlier as they walk in the town
'did you see scrouge and his gang shot down the sheriff'
'yea it's a shame doe what did he steal this time money?'
'nah I heard he stole just some jewel that was stolen by the natives years ago'
'then again this town was always his favourite spot to rob and now his bounty must be at least 20 grand now'
just the name scrouge alone was mentioned shadow gulp down the rest of his drink and told the two to get ready to leave and carry on with there journey

later at night:
the trio stop and got a fire ready for them to camp out for the night and as they done that shadow told the two that he was going to look for something for them to eat before they go to sleep and left them both there to rest.
they were in the wilderness surrounded by pine trees and bushes a perfect place for something to hunt for there dinner but unfortunately shadow couldn't find anything like that instead he found a lake and a load of bushes with fruit on them.
shadow was glad he found something and pick a load and place them in his bag and was about to leave till he heard a horse near by were the lake was and look to see if it was a wild one but notice there was a saddle on it.
shadow bent down looking around for the owner praying that it was just some random civilian and not one of scrouges gang and realized that there was a blue hedgehog with his shoes off and his top half in his bare fur rather than clothed in the lake whispering to himself.
blue hedgehog: steady.......steady.....and.....GOTYA!
the blue hedgehog had what looks like a spear and ram it into the lake as soon as he shouted bringing up a fish at the end of the blade when he pull it back up
'heck yea another for dinner hey look sugar I got....'
the blue hedgehog turn with a smile but then soon wipe it off his face and look around suddenly he then walk out of the lake and went to his horse he just called sugar that had a bag hanging on the side and pull out a knife.
'WHO EVER YOU ARE SHOW YOURSELF I KNOW YOUR HERE!' said the blue hedgehog who was on alert
shadow slowly back away so he could try and get away and back to rouge and silver only to step on a twig giving the blue hedgehog the sigh were the intruder was and at incredible speed he rush over to were shadow was and jump on him with shadow being quick to react too and pull out his gun and aim it at the teen as he landed on the ground however the teen already had his knife pressed right against shadow neck at the same time.
it too at least 10 seconds of them staring at each other before shadow realize that it was only a blue hedgehog kid and slowly put his gun down on the floor to almost say that he means no harm.
the teen look at shadow intensely as he was thinking till he suddenly spoke and said
'your not one of scrouge's lackeys who are you and why were you watching me pervert?'
shadow raised his hand over his head to try and give the boy a sigh that he means no harm and luckily sonic took his knife away from his neck and got off of shadow but was still warry of him
shadow: I mean no harm I'm just here to look for something for me and my friends to eat and heard something in the lack that's all....AND WHAT THE HELL YOU MEAN BY PERVERT!
