shadow: you got it wrong kid i an't no pervert

'yes sure that's what they all say buster'

shadow didn't want to argue he had the other two to get back too so he told the kid 'what ever you think it's not true now if you excuse me'

shadow was about to pick the berries that was all over the ground that came out of his bag as he was roughly push on down but the teen spoke again

'wait....your not going to eat them are you?'

shadow: yea well they are fruit so...

'but they are poison berries stupid you eat them and you better expect to be very sick after'

shadow look at the fruit closer and indeed the boy was right they were poison berries making shadow feel like an idiot for such a rookie mistake

shadow: shit I should of look better....sigh

the teen turn around and walk next to his sugar asking shadow how many mobian was he feeding and shadow being puzzled on why he would ask that but told him it was just him and another two then the teen walk up to him still wary of shadow and handed him three large fish that he just caught from the lake saying

'here as an apology for knocking you down like that'

shadow was reluctant at first but then took the fish from the boy

shadow: much obliged but you really don't have to kid

'it's fine pervert and instead of 'kid' the names sonic'

shadow: the names shadow not pervert

sonic: shadow.....shadow were did I hear that name before?

sonic was thinking and then he remembered as he chuckled a little

sonic: oh yea now I remember your the sheriff from the capital that is after scrouge right?

shadow just nodded but had a sour face to show when he heard the enemies name being mentioned 

sonic: then your definitely not part of his gang that for sure and here I thought you were some creepy pervert from his group heh....sorry about that shadow 

shadow: no worries but may I ask why your out here alone kid i mean sonic

sonic: oh I'm  just resting for the night and then carrying on with my travels in the morning why do you ask sheriff?

shadow scan sonic and notice that he may have good speed and reflexes but to him he was still a child and a cocky one at that when he speaks

shadow: well it's not everyday I see someone out at your age that's why

sonic try not to take offence to that and simple gave him a cocky reply

sonic: oh should I be on a curfew sheriff and besides I'm 17 and this guy can take care of himself trust me on that.....anyway an't you got to feed your friends 

shadow got the message as sonic want him to basically get lost so he nodded thank him again then left to go back to his friends as he thought that sonic was one weird kid

as he got back to silver and rouge they ask him how he got the fish when they knew shadow wasn't the type to go fishing

shadow: well let's just say some kid that though i was as he said a perverted old geezer and gave them to me as an apology for tackling me down to the ground

rouge and silver saw the frustration on shadow face as he said that making them want to laugh at the fact shadow was tackled by a mere child while shadow gave them the fish to cook for them but couldn't get the kid off his mind

the next morning:

shadow went back to the lake but notice that sonic must of left on his journey and then went back to his rouge and silver and started there's but shadow mind was still on sonic for some reason and he didn't know why.

as the trio road there horses and both rouge and silver notice shadow mind was else where and ask him if he was ok 

shadow: i'm just thinking about that cocky brat how dare he call me that.....I'M 22 FOR CHAOS SAKE'S.....that little runt

rouge: he must of made one big impact on you if your mind is on him this whole time and you even went out of your way to see him before we left

shadow: that was because i wanted to tell that he shouldn't be out at that time last night that's all

rouge: right and why would you care hun

shadow:......because he's only a kid and it's dangerous what if he got caught by some bandits 

silver: what like scrouge...OW

rouge punch silver in the shoulder after he said that as the three only knew all to well what scrouge was capable of but there horses soon stop as they saw the native tribes home and was hopeing to go passed it quietly but was stop by on of the guards

'halt this is the echidna tribe that your going though outsiders what's your business here'

said one of the echidna guards that was pointing his spear at shadow

shadow: we mean no harm to your tribe we are just passing though that all

the two guard's look at each other and then the one pointing the spear said in a demanding tone 

'very well mobian follow me and don't think about talking or showing your weapons to are fellow echidnas or else'

shadow nodded and told the two to do the same and followed the echidna into there village 

the trio look around and saw that they were all defiantly echidnas but half way there was an red echidna that was fully decorated in feathers talking to one that stand out the most that was a blue hedgehog

sonic was talking to the chef but notice the three and soon waved at shadow and gave a smile shadow grunted in annoyance back but his horse stop as the echidna that he was following raised his spear again at him

'what are you doing mobian and who are you looking at'

sonic saw this and ran up to him asking the echidna to lower his spear

'but they are outsiders sonic'

the chief also came over and ask sonic if they know the three

sonic: yea i do don't worry this is shadow i saw him last night he said he was traveling like me so don't worry knuckles 

knuckles the chief look unamused till the teen reassured him they were no threat

knuckles: that's chief knuckles to you and if you say they are not a threat then i would have to trust you won't i......you lower your spear and let them go though 

the echidna did just that and knuckles went back to speaking to sonic

knuckles: as i was saying are you sure you will be fine on your own i can send ten warriors with you

sonic: nah bad idea if scrouge knows about your tribe then he will go after you guys so it best if i go alone plus look at me knux i can blend in with the other mobian no prob 

knuckles:...hmmmm...very well just get back safely and with a less cocky attitude too ya blue pin cushion 

sonic: sure sure whatever you say knucklehead

shadow heard the whole thing and never though someone can be this cocky to a native and still have there fur kept on there body
