As Jake informed me and Max about his discovery I informed the guys, but as easy and smooth as I could. It only worked for a short time since Vince got all impatient and wanted to know what was going on. Classic Vince.
When I told them they were asking me all sorts of questions that I wished I had the answers to. I only said that that they have to meet up in the library with the rest of us tomorrow after school. That's when we will know what is going on.
I bet the guys didn't even focus on my homework. I couldn't really focus on anything except Jake's words. Jake doesn't just want to talk to me and Max, but the guys too?! Who aren't even magic! I just don't want them to get hurt.
"Why?" I heard Max asked, sitting on the single brown recliner chair.
I looked up at him and explained, "They don't deserve to get hurt, they are just kids."
"After what they have been doing with you?" He argued.
"Why is that the only reason you have Max?" I tried whispering, since my whole family is in the house right now. "It's like something you need for you to hate them. Why are you so hung up on it?"
Max was silent with his arms crossed. Then he said, "Your a higher being than them. You deserve their respect if they are going to know that magic is involved." He sounded angry with intensity in his eyes, like it was towards me. I hoped it was all still towards the guys.
I sighed as I looked away from him. "Your priorities and mine are really different. And that is one I don't care about, not as much as you." That was all I said to him before my mom and Eliana walked into the kitchen together, and even talking and laughing. As usual, they stopped their stupid little argument and made up again for the 100th time.
The next morning I kept on texting Andy who was the only one online. Vince and Adrian needed to get to school by bus while Andy walks.
He kept on asking questions if I think this whole discovery will rid the guys knowledge of magic. It may seem like I know a lot about this whole Ultimate/ United stuff, but really I am just as clueless as everyone else. I responded that I had no idea. Andy responded that he hoped not.
"I hope not too." I think to myself. All these months have been the most me and him have talked. In elementary school, we didn't talk much. We had different classes, but we do have separate classes now too. We did talk during Recess and Lunch sometimes. When I wasn't with my friends, I went to him when he was just hanging around near the classrooms, admiring the plants. I would occasionally try to scare him, but I was never successful.
I'm guessing my news didn't stop crossing the boys minds, since they came up to me during Lunch. They came right when the Harley and Claire were gone. Andy was the first to say something and asked if Jake said anything to me today.
"I wish." I sighed.
"Why couldn't Jake just tell you first?" Adrian wondered.
"And you could have told us after?" Vince followed.
"Well, guys aren't that reliable with texting." I mentioned.
"Sadly, that is true." Andy mumbled. "But it could be really important?"
"To the point where we needed to hear it all together?" I ask and felt more anxious as I talked, and I could tell the boys felt the same. They were moving around a lot more than usual.
Adrian kept fiddling with his fingers. Andy was tapping his foot, and Vince was scratching the back of his neck, a lot more than he should. He doesn't have nails, but soon he could potentially make it bleed if he didn't stop. I wasn't so calm myself. My hands were sweating like crazy.
When school was finally over us four rushed to the library and called out to Jake to find out what the heck is going on.
"Jake!" I say for the last time as he and Max appeared side by side each other on the small second level of the library.
"Jake! What the hell is going on?" Adrian shouted. Why was he shouting? Doesn't he know that Jake also has magic? He should respect him from how much he has done for us, and that he has magic we do not know what it could be capable of.
They should also not be noticing Max. I didn't give him permission to be shown to anyone. I'm just glad he is here.
"Why did we have to be here Jake?" Andy asked.
"First off, Adrian and Vince were right about the monsters being spawned, instead of them spawning on their own."
My heart immediately dropped, I feel like it could have fell straight to the floor.
"What?!" Vince shrieked.
"Really?" Adrian and Vince asked in unison while the rest of us magical's just stood in shock.
As the cheers and fists pumps between the boys died down Jake added, "Apparently, another magical has been the one summoning them and even has similar powers as Veronica."
Vince's and Adrian's joyful smiles dropped with worry that the rest of us were feeling.
"So there is someone with ice powers like Veronica?" Vince clarified.
Jake nodded and used his magic to make the projector rapidly get pulled down and turn on.
Right away, we see visual of what this Jack looks like, which from the visual, he is known as the "The Goblin King."
I doubt we had any idea what he looked like. However, we didn't know he would look like a mutant.
The picture was him standing but with a normal white human leg and a green goblin leg. His arms were nearly the same. He had one green arm and a white human arm.
I guess, goblins don't wear barely anything since all he was wearing was a brown cloth over his needed to be covered area. His body build was muscular while it had some green coloring around his torso that crawled up to his left arm or from where we were standing, his right arm.
The goblin limbs were on opposite sides of one another. His face was toned and older looking. He could be older than me. All of us? It was all white as well, but with his buzz cut we could see there were green goblin pointed ears. What made him like that?
I felt like I was looking at the picture too long since I just heard Adrian ask something, nothing else.
"Since he is a goblin, how does he have the same ice powers as Veronica?"
"It was difficult to look into but once I dug deep into Jack's power information, I found that it came from one source and it was his and Veronica's mom."
My heart dropped with the whole room falling silent. "So that means...?" I couldn't finish what I was thinking.
Instead, Vince helped, but shrieked in the process. "You're related to a goblin?!"
"And not from here I'm afraid." Jake mentioned.
"You're not from here?!" We heard from behind us and saw that Camila was standing near the librarians desk all along. Great, another person to handle yet again.
