*Veronica's pov*
I let the boys go out first so I could pay attention on getting those strangers out of there. I did have to use another bullet of my glock to fully awake them. I rushed to the stone entrance before they could see me and run out of the place themselves. The boys some how managed to get out of there with me asking them to get me out. I don't know if my jumps have increased. I couldn't test it out now. Andy and Adrian helped me out with them either mocking me that I couldn't jump out of there myself, asking what to do or apolozising. I demanded that we get of there with out telling them the truth and just saying that we had to go.
Of course the way back to our school had to be filled with the boys pleads and apologies mainly Andy's. Vince did at first, but stopped knowing that I wouldn't cave. Adrian did follow along a bit, mostly to help Andy out. I didn't respond most of the time and occasionally said that they would talk about it when we get to the library. I couldn't wait for them to stop making excuses for themselves on how they helped and now they deserved to help her on the monsters. Even though they didn't even do that.
I enter the library angrily leaving the boys outside and deal with the loose metal door. They still kept on apologizing. "Come on Veronica, We said we're sorry!" Andy shouts desperately.
I went up to the projector screen and pushed the red button that opens the weapons case. "Yeah, like a billion times!" Vince adds, annoyed.
"And yet I said no a billion times!" I argued back, closing the case back up after putting away my glocks and belt. "What's the big deal anyway?" Vince asks, with no care.
I scoff and turn back to them frustrated. "The big deal is that you guys could have gotten hurt."
The boys made faces confused and glanced at each other. "How could we get hurt? You can easily protect us." Andy mentions.
I lay my hands on one of the bookshelves in front of me. "If I wouldn't have let you three know my secret, you guys wouldn't have run off doing a mission and got caught. Making me save you humans as always." I look away feeling my cheeks getting heated from my rage.
"But that's just it Veronica." Andy says. "You have to save people. Alone."
"I have Jake." I point out, as Jake appears standing next to a library table.
"I doubt that's what he's talking about." Vince mentions.
Andy clears his throat. "What I'm trying to say is that you don't have to fight alone ." He gets in between Vince and Adrian putting his arms around them that did not look like they enjoyed it. "You have us." He says smiling, but not the boys.
"Thanks, but no thanks." I say with no care and while I walk to and down the stairs. Andy lets go of them and getting annoyed at her attitude.
"What's wrong with getting help?" Adrian asks, curiously.
I stop on my way out of the glass door on the other side of the library. They have some nerve! I turn around to face them trying to look calm, but also angry. "Nothing. It's just that I don't need any." I say opening the door and walking through it, having it slam shut.
*Third person pov*
The boys are left feeling shocked and under appreciative about her not wanting them to be there. Andy pushes his brown hair that was hanging over his forehead out of the way and walks away from the guys groaning, putting his palms on his face. "UGH! Why doesn't she want our help?" He asks.
"Like she said, maybe she doesn't need it?" Vince guesses leaning on one of the chairs from the exhausion escaping and Andy's stupid attempts to be in Veronica's shoes.
"But she can't do this by herself." He argues.
"How do you know?" Adrian interferes.
Andy turns around and asks. "Remember those bruises on her neck?"
The two boys glance at each other and nod. "Yeah. Why?" Adrian asks.
"If she could get those bruises, then she could get even more hurt or..." Andy hesitates looking away from them. "Dead?" Jake finishes him appearing behind Andy. He turns around to him leaving all three of them having their attention on Jake. "Yeah. She could die." Andy says softly. Jake nods slightly oddly looking sad about the thought.
"But we don't know if doing this caused those bruises." Vince argues.
"Yeah, didn't she say that it was from her sister wreslting her?" Adrian mentions.
"But after what we saw today she could and die!" Andy shouted from fear.
"And that is why she doesn't want you three on any missions."
"So we can't see her die?" Adrian asks.
"So you guys won't die." He steps down to the floor where the chairs and tables were set. "Well like I said, she wouldn't have to see us die unless she tells us what to do to prepare for such things and informs us what is going on."
"I feel like we would get killed either way." Vince mentions.
"Not if we use it correctly." Andy corrects him.
A ding from Adrian's phone interrupts them. It turned out to be a message from his brother that he is almost at the school to pick him up. "I doubt we would have the time to look over the information with our busy schedules." He sighs as he puts the phone back in his pocket and starts to pack up.
"Your brother's here to pick you up?" Vince asks.
He nods. "Yup."
"Well I guess we can talk about this later." Arvind says loud enough for them to hear as they head out with Adrian.
*Veronica's Pov*
With everything going it has caused me to get a gigantic headache that feels like it could be turned into a migrane. I do hope it doesn't come to that. Throughout the drive back home and trying to do some homework I kept on thinking about those hostages and the words from The Capturer. That some monsters want my head. I knew that monsters would come with being the Ultimate, but didn't know that the reason they spawn is to get me.
I didn't care about Language Arts now. It's Special Ed Language Arts, and the teacher is really nice and doesn't grade hard on late work. Now I had to check if those hostages were okay and made it safely to where they lived.
I went on the booked marked news websites that had the articles of those missing people with my heart racing of anxiety if they were alive.
It took some time to load the more recent articles since I have been focused on what the people were and if The Capturer had a type or not. Luckily my house wi-fi wasn't the reason that the website was slow, but because of how many news articles that were uploading.
I never knew so many articles could be poster so fast, and by many different people! The guy with the go-tee made it to his family. The red haired 50 or 60 year old lady got back safely. Everyone pretty much got back safely. I guess I was so wrapped up in my news searching that I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings.
Randomly I felt my headphones slip off, but that was my big sister Eliana, who yanked them off my head and even pulled some of my hair.
"Hey!" I yelled angrily and looked up at her as I shut off my Ipad.
"Hey! Stop putting on both headphones!" She yelled and let them fall to the ground.
"Mommy and Camila do it!" I mentioned.
"And I keep telling them that too, we need to clean the kitchen."
I groan as I shoved my notebook and IPad off of me. "All of us?"
"Yup." Camila sighs as she appears from our bedroom. A normal night in our house us sisters do all the work while our mom does nothing.
