*Veronica's Pov*

As I got picked up by my dad the girls were barading me with texts of concern since I wasn't there in the gym when some of the gym's lights that hung from the roof fell from the force that was caused by the staff. I only knew that it was caused by the staff. No one else knows, apart from Andy.

I was dreading going to school on Monday to hear him just brag and brag about what happened and what he witnessed.

I had to help clean up an experiment that we did in science while everyone else in our group packed up. I knew I was the only one who cared about getting a good grade on it. I also knew that the boys would already be in the library before me. I didn't expect them to still be talking about what happened last Friday.

"You fought with her?" I heard Vince ask as I walked in.

"Yup!" Andy said proudly.

"Okay, now I wish I went to the social," Adrian mumbles with regret.

"Told you!" Andy chuckles as he keeps rubbing the night to the boy's faces.

"You guys are still talking about it?" I ask and grab the boys' attention.

"Let's see for ourselves," Adrian says as he and Vince turn to face me.

"Veronica, Did Andy really take part in the fight against Anubis?"

My eyebrows scrunch. "No."

He and Vince smirk and snicker while Andy stands in front of us now looking confused. "What? I did!"

I drop my backpack on one of the chairs. "Uh No you didn't."

"But I brought you that purple thingy."

I nod. "Yeah, no fighting, punches, or kicks."

The boys continue snickering with it turning into laughs. "Wow, such an awesome story, Andy," Adrian says sarcastically.

Andy then scoffs with frustration and annoyance as he grabs his backpack to head out the door. "Thank god he's gone!" Vince sighs, exhausted, and sits on one of the blue chairs. "He's been talking about what happened and how he did amazing in the fight with you," Adrian mentions continuing on snickering.

I raise an eyebrow. "Oh really?"

"Yup." Vince sighs.

"I doubt one of his punches could even hurt one of you humans." I joke, making them both laugh.

"So have any monsters come up?" Adrian asks, excitedly.

I sigh trying to calm myself from my anger. Andy isn't the only one who hangs out with me because of what I can do. "Uh No I don't think so."

"Will any show up, since you defeated a 'god of Anubis'?" Vince asks.

I shrug. "I don't know. I never fought an actual god before."

Adrian gets up and stretches his arms. "Well, tell us when one does come up." The two boys walk out of the room and leave to plan doing the exact opposite.

"Are they getting on your nerves also?" Jake asks as he appears standing by the big hanging TV.

I sigh. "Yeah, but after a while they can be fun."

Jake scoffs with doubt. "Whatever you humans say 'floats your boat'."

I did notice Jake's attempt to use an idiom, but I was more focused on some other matters.

"Something happened at the fight?" I heard Jake ask.

I took a glance at him and saw that he really does show concern on his face. "A bit," I say.

"With Andy I presume?"

I tilted my head and answered. "Uh Actually no."

Jake's eyebrow raises with interest. "Anubis said that he 'needed my power'."

Jake's face scrunches with confusion. "What?"

She shrugs. "I have been wondering why since..."

"He's already a god." Jake finishes for me.

"Yup!" I sigh and lean against the librarian's counter from how much this whole thing is making me tired. "So could I be a god or something as powerful as one?"

He sighs with a shrug. "I honestly have no clue."

"I would have thought that the Ultimate's were only more powerful than humans, not gods?"

"Maybe they like that you can do many tricks with your kind of power?" Jake guesses.

The fact of me possibly having a power that gods want did scare me and made me feel surprisingly excited to hear that. I wished that I could tell or talk to someone about it. My teachers, Claire, Harley, and even the boys who again could just be hanging out with me since I have power.

I couldn't tell my family also. They probably wouldn't believe me at first and then when I showed them it could go two ways. One they would hate me keeping it a secret and they would just use it for themselves and let me do all the work. Two, it could get them hurt if I get into real trouble with any of these monsters.

I kept thinking that when I got back home. Tonight Camila was in our parent's room talking about how she has made new friends at school. I remembered that I did tell my mom that I would tell her how my 6th grade had been later. I rushed over just in case they would change the subject since they always do that and it does end up changing the whole mood, especially our moms.

Our mom was sitting up on the right of the bed with her laptop lying on her chest and our dad was sitting up with his laptop on his lap on the right of the bed. Our dad was sitting on the right of her with his laptop sitting on the bed.

I got there with me standing behind Camila when they were talking about her 5th grade classes which she loved from how they were laughing a few seconds ago. A second later I came that joyful smile came down to an angry frown, luckily and surprisingly our parents didn't notice.

"You like your classes?" I asked with a chuckle.

The frown stayed when she answered. "Yeah."

"Oh did you get Mr. Thorson or Mr. N?" It looked like their parents' eyes were now glued to their laptops to notice that I wanted to talk. "You just had to come?" She whispered while shoving me against my shoulder and not even our parents noticed that. I didn't think that they would do anything about it or even lecture her.

I walked back to the living room thinking about how I think our parents especially my mom treated me worse than my two sisters. Camila is the youngest by only 11 months and she is the big helper of the family. She always asks if anybody needs help or has special talents that our mom loves, like finding anything in the house big or small. I for one never get the chance to do any of that for only two reasons. One: I procrastinate on almost everything. Two and this is a big one: Camila steals the spotlight. She always makes sure she is the one who helps and is the special one. When I go on a grocery run with her and their dad she is usually mad or what I see jealous. Either at something she did at home or that she's even going.

On days when she has to clean, there is always something her mom has to say "You always do stuff wrong. Have Cammy do it." Whether it's getting trash together, wiping down the floor, washing clothes, or anything Camila is the perfect helper or 2nd perfect daughter. That phrase is what I came up with for both her and our oldest sister Eliana. Eliana especially is one of them and our mom is not afraid to show even though she doesn't seem like she is.

Even though Eliana is 28 she still acts like a 4-year-old spoiled brat. That might be because her dad left our mom when she was young and her mom probably had a right to baby her and give her everything to not make her sad all the time. But she didn't have to be treated like that for years! A couple of months maybe, but years was too much!

I'm afraid that if I do say anything about the issue being a problem even nicely and politely like our mom wants, Eliana would just cry like the baby she was born to be. Anything would do that since our mom never said no to her ever again.
