S2: CHAPTER 23

( COSMOS ORGANIZATION: MEDICAL WARD )

Kuma gasped as she coughed, immediately sitting up straight from the hospital bed she's on. The girl felt her throat dry and parched like something was burning within her throat. There's a cup of water on the nightstand beside her bed so she took that and drank it all in one gulp.

Once finishing the liquid inside the object she'd glance around the environment she was admitted to. Turns out she's been transferred into the medical ward in COSMOS. Bandages had been wrapped around her arms, legs and neck alongside her head. Right now she is wearing some hospital clothes too.

"What.. happened?" She whispered. Her voice sounded off, like it was hoarse.

"You're finally awake." A voice rang from the doorway.

Kuma spotted Zen, Yubin alongside Meenho by the entrance doorway of her room. Each of them holding basket of food, drinks and some snacks typically for her to consume while she'd recuperate from her wounds.

Kuma awed at them, especially the food. "Are those for me?" She grinned widely.

"You looked better than we thought. Should we have not visited?" Meenho asked jokingly.

"Ack! Hey! I was only kidding." Kuma immediately objected.

She was hungry and there's no way she'd try and let those foods go without tasting them.

When Kuma was being served with some foods and beverages, she was also informed about how everything was going alright with the ship's repair while also telling her about everyone's good health.

Few members from Section-A visited Kuma in her room to give thanks and sincerely apologize to her. Kuma was a bit skeptical about it, yet she accepted them because to her it looks like they've already learned their lessons.

Calla visited after the others left. She held some box of muffins on the right, then the other one holds Cheeky. Since Kuma had been hospitalised for two days, Calla decided to take care of Cheeky in place of her. She and the bird did not have a good start but Cheeky managed to behave.

Cheeky chirped, happy to see Kuma in good condition. It flapped it's wings and glided next to her.

"Cheeky! How're you doing?? Are you eating alright?" Kuma asked petting the bird.

It chirped once more nudging it's head onto the female's hand, seemingly to like her warmth.

"I didn't know what to feed him so i tried letting him eat some bird food." Calla explained, placing the box of muffins on the bedside.

"Are you alright now?"

Kuma smiled as she nodded. "I heard that Jake is being suspended and is not to enter COSMOS for the meantime."

"Well, serves him right to be honest." Calla answered with crossed arms.

Kuma blinked and turned to the red-eyed female. "What about Iris? Yubin said that she's the one who took me and Jay to safety." she questioned, unable to really get any information regarding that matter.

"Ah, well. She got several wounds and was asked to go home for some rest. Apparently i was asked too but i decided to stay here for a few more days."

"Was Jay asked too?" Kuma.

"Hmn?" Calla hummed softly, "They didn't tell you?" she asked.

Kuma furrowed her eyebrows, "What do you mean?" the girl questions.

"When you were unconscious, General Harris and Jay had a talk. None of us know what it was but all of a sudden Jay was requested to be on suspension. It was actually a bit surprising, since Jay did not do anything about it and accepted the orders."
