S2: CHAPTER 28

( Armageddon Headquarters: Quarry )

Another day another mining to do with the same work that almost lasts for a day. Those who're scheduled in the afternoon had to be at the Quarry for almost 3 hours straight, then it ends at exactly 4.

Gopal was one of the miner's whose scheduled in the afternoon alongside Gantur and Kiko. The three of them got to a new mining spot deep within the cave yet none of them had any luck finding ores within the area.

Last night was a terrible experience because the whole vicinity shook. Prisoners had to hold onto something and duck under the tables for safety because of it.

Kiko hums surveying his surroundings. Seeing none of the cloak men were paying much attention to them, he slowly turned to Gopal and Gantur whose busy minding their own business.

"Psst, don't you guys think it's weird that those tremors are happening?" Kiko asked them because he was curious. Enough for him to write any theory he has in his head inside a notebook.

Which every prisoners have one.

Gopal and Gantur shrugged.

Gantur gripped the pickaxe's handle and smashed the wall of soil in front of him. "Not really, doesn't that thing always happens because those guys are doing something?" the hog-alien answered.

"Yeah, but.. what for??"

Gopal whimpered, "Have you ever watched a movie?" the boy asked.

"Huh? What's a movie?" Kiko questions.

"Then have you ever heard the saying; ' curiosity kills the cat?'." Gopal uttered.

Kiko made a face. "What's the use of science if you aren't curious?" he reasoned.

"Ey, can you still be curious when when you're already 8 ft underground?" Gopal retorted.

Gantur who left the two to argue about their statements made his way to the other spot after having to not find any source of ores on his current part of the area. He changed his location to a newer one, which were just a bit deep into the cave that none has ever started there yet.

When passing by two boulders of rocks, something glinted from the corner of his eyes, eventually stopping him from taking another step forward. Gantur whirled around to try and catch a glimpse of what it was.

There was some kind of small crevice in between the two large boulders. Unable to see clearly what was on the other side, so he leaned onto it, placing his right eye to peak.

It was dark.

Gantur could not see anything in that part plus it was so dusty, making him sniffle a bit.

"Hey, Gantur. What are you doing over here?" Kiko asked with Gopal behind him.

Gantur blinked, "Ah.. it's just that i thought i saw something glinting from the other side of these boulders." the alien explained while scratching his head.

Gopal tried leaning in and then peeked from between the gap. It was dark inside just how Gantur sees it.

Then something glinted in the darkness for a split second.

Gopal gasped and he pulled away. "S-something is there!" he panicked hiding behind Kiko.

"Eh?!"

Gantur huffed and then cracked his fingers. He flipped his hand subtly before trying to pry away the other boulder so he could create a pathway. The tall alien grunted as he groaned, giving it all his got.

"H-hurry! Before someone sees us!" Gopal ushered.

THUD

The boulder had been removed.
