Lena and her brother Owen Grady are in f...
"Whats in the bag?" Jaime asked walking next to Lena.
"Science experiments." Lena offered. "That might just save your gorgeous life."
"I'm Jaime." He informed her holding out a hand.
"Lena, but you already knew that." She countered shaking his hand.
"You lived on the island your whole life?" Jaime asked.
"Born and raised, Dinosaur is in my blood." Lena agreed.
"I have to admit when Cersei and Robert decided to come here I was hesitant." Jaime admitted and he could practically feel Cersei staring a hole in the back of his head as they walked along the trail.
"That means you are smart. I'm sure you have heard the horror stories from the island." Lena remarked. Jaime nodded. "They are not just stories Jaime." Lena informed him seriously. "Lives are lost here. Human and dinosaur. Idiots in power like to come here, everyone thinks themselves untouchable... but I will tell you something Jaime. We all jump and fall."
"I don't think I'm untouchable." Jaime corrected.
"You jump, you fall, you are soldier, you get back up and fall down thats the damn job. Protecting that fat lard of a king." Lena remarked.
"You move like a dancer." Jaime said before he could stop himself. Lena smiled to herself.
"I used to dance a lot. I dance around the lab when I'm making something new. When it floods, it rains it pours, back when Viserys Targaryen reigned we had the worst flooding apparently. We also had aquatic dinosaurs that our ancestors couldnt get a handle on. They destroyed everything. We still have the bunkers but less need for them." Lena informed him. "Nessy and Meg stay away and when it floods it doesnt sink the island anymore."
"That sounds scary." Jaime admitted.
"I'm sure it was but us Grady's are resilient." Lena informed him.
"When am I going to see a dinosaur!" Joffrey demanded, Lena thought he sounded like a little boy about to throw a tantrum and get them a lot of unwanted attention.
"Ah, to the left we have Terry." Lena declared fondly.
"Terry? That doesnt sound very-" Arya began but then she saw him.
"Terry is a Triceratops. He is best known with its three horns and frill, the frill is like a shield covering his body, do you see it?" Lena questioned.
"Yeah." Arya whispered suddenly losing her confidence.
''He is also a plant eater." Maisie added.
"So he won't eat us?" Cersei clarified.
"I mean if provoked...." Lena began with a shrug.
"Why Terry?" Joffrey spat as Lena got closer.
"I have a rule." Lena began. "Excuse me tall Ser, can you grab me a handful of those big leaf's?" Lena asked staring up at Sandor. "I would climb the tree but since you are already up there..." She mused and Sandor reached a hand up grabbing the leaves.
"What rule?" Jaime pondered.
"Whenever someone dies on the island... is killed viciously on the island." Lena altered with a sweet smile as she got closer to Terry. "I like to honor them, name the next dinosaur born of that species in their honor."
"that's very honorable." Ned stated and questioned. Arya took a step forward but Ned grabbed her arm.
"Lena is doing it!" Arya demanded.
"She is also dino blood you idiot." Sansa sneered.
"She can come on up." Lena assured. Jaime wasnt a man afraid of much but seeing Lena walk right up to the triceratops no fear in her eyes. He was worried she was about to lose her head.
"See!" Arya begged and ned loosened his grip just slightly and Arya pulled free.
"Slow." Lena instructed when she heard Arya's fast footsteps. "Alright, don't let him eat your hand off. Do as I do." Everyone took a cautious step forward as Lena held the stem of the large leaf and held it out for Terry. He opened his mouth and Ned saw all his teeth, he pictured Arya getting eaten in that very moment and his heart stopped. Lena gave the leaf a little shove towards him as it met his lips. "Your turn, just like that." Lena instructed. Arya copied Lena and was giddy with excitement as she turned back to her father.
"The theatrics." Claire murmured.
"Be nice, I love Lena." Owen reminded her.
"I thought you loved me?" Claire countered kissing his cheek.
"Gag!" Lena declared as she pat Terry's head.
"Grow up." Claire instructed.
"I'm going to be young and beautiful forever!" Lena corrected.
"Lets keep going." Maisie instructed. She began telling them of the island, the different dinos as they walked. Cersei tried to pull Jaime back to her but he was transfixed on Lena.
"Have you left the island?" Jaime pondered. Lena turned her attention away from Maisie as she led the group.
"Plenty," Lena agreed. "We have-"
"You have dragons!" Arya declared excitedly. Tyrion and the rest of the group dropped down though. Jaime faltered back a step but didnt want to be seen as scared, not when Lena was so damn fearless.

"Quazie." Lena informed them. His wing span casted a shadow down around them as he flew by. "Our largest flying dinosaur. The rest are miniscule, bird like. They pterodactyls are a bit larger than birds, eagles, large eagles are as large as ours got. But Quazie is the only one that lets us fly!" Lena's arms extended outwards and her head tipped back.
"You can fly him?" Jaime asked amazed. Everyone knew that dragons were extinct but everyone knew about Jurassic island. Knew that dinosaurs were real, why did dragons have to be extinct and not just hiding somewhere.
"Quazie is a Quetzalcoatlus," Maisie informed them all confidently. "He only lets Lena fly him though."
"He used to only come out in the rain." Lena added. "But he likes us better now."
"Come on, much to see before nightfall." Maisie declared leading them onwards. Jaime noticed the look of admiration Lena had for Maisie.
"Is she your daughter?" Jaime whispered.
"Seems like it." Lena answered. "She came to us when she was five, I raised her, taught her, she is mine in every way but blood."
"You protect her like she is your daughter..." Jaime added.
"I protect her with my life." Lena agreed. "We protect what we love. But I don't need to tell you that, you gave up your life because you loved your sister and wanted to protect her until the last of her days. It's really sweet."
It used to be because Jaime loved Cersei more than he should. Now he wondered why he stayed at the capital, his father had begged him for years to put aside his gold cloaks and take over at casterly rock. His heir, the only heir he was proud of.
Yet there Lena was, on an island, able to do as she pleased and a raise a little girl that wasnt her blood but she got to call Maisie family, something Jaime would never get at the capital. It made his heart ache for real love and family.
