10. Pride

Lena stayed in the lab despite her grumbling stomach.

"Where is Lena?" Jaime questioned as they all ate supper that night. Maisie was staring at the door waiting for her to come in too.

"Had some work to do," owen offered.

"Work?" Robert laughed out.

"Lena is our lead scientist on the island." Alan agreed. "Work never stops for her."

Jaime thought that really amazing. All cersei seemed to do was bark orders. Robert drank ate and whored. Even Jaime could see Ned was good for the capital for as much as he tormented Ned himself. He saw that Ned Stark was a good man. A good leader.

"I woll bring her a plate. Maisie remarked as she got up bringing her plate and another to the door. jaime got up seeing her balancing plates and pushed it open for her.

"I could help you." Jaime offered. Maisie looked him but before shaking her head.

"Thanks but no thanks. Maisie corrected. He took a step into the hall watching her go debating following after her.

"Jaime!" Cersei hissed. "Sit down.

''Knock knock I dont have hands open the door.' Maisie declared kicking the lab door.

''You dont have hands?'' Lena countered pulling open the door and seeing the plates of food.

''Where were you? You were all ooh handsome knight and then you ran off. What did he do?" Maisie questioned as Lena took a plate.

''Nothing. He didnt do anything... And ooh handsome knight?" Lena declared. Maisie shrugged.

''You seemed to like him.''

''I do. Then I saw something in his eyes that I didnt like.' Lena offered.

''Lena if its what I said. Im sorry.'' Maisie offered but lena shook her head taking a bite of a roll.

''No. Not you. Just him the Lannisters. Its nothing. Honest.'' Lena assured.

''You know you are always lying when you add honest to the end of your statement.'' Maisie remarked.

''Can we drop it?'' Lena countered.

''Fine.'' Maisie agreed softly.

''Do I really?" Lena questioned "say honest when Im lying?"

''Its like its your way of being truthful.'' Maisie remarked. ''By letting me know you are lying and not okay but need me to drop it anyways.''

''You're the best kid anyone could ask for.'' Lena declared hugging her.

''You are the best mum.'' Maisie informed her and Lena felt her heart swell with pride.

Meanwhile Jaime felt no pride for his only legitimate heir as Joffrey belittled the food and the clothes and the lack of dinosaurs before cersei suggested it was time for bed.

"Im not tired. Im bored.'' Joffrey corrected.

''Should have joined us on the hike,'' Jaime remarked. ''It was quite wonderful unlike anything-" cersei waved a hand beckoning him to shut up. Jaime wasnt listening the rest of dinner, he heard Cersei's shrill voice but not the words coming out. 

"Would you like me to walk you back to your room?" Alan offered. Jaime looked up to notice everyone had left the dinning hall already. 

"No I'm fine." Jaime countered standing up. 

"I know I phrased it as a question but you do need to be with someone when moving around the compound.'' Alan remarked. 

"I was hoping to say goodnight to Lena." Jaime pondered. "Could I... pop by her chambers and say goodnight?"

"Sure." Alan agreed. But when they got to Lena's door a sign was up. One Maisie had made a million years ago it seemed. Jaime touched the wooden sign. 

~Out Exploring~ It said in a childs writing little dino eggs painted on it. Jaime flipped it around. 

~Roar~ it read with an awkwardly drawn dino roaring. 

"Maisie and her are probably at the lab." Alan remarked. "You will see her in he morning." He assured.

"Get some rest." Lena instructed as she cleaned up. 

"You too." Maisie insisted. 

"Lord Grady." Cersei remarked. 

"Your grace you shouldnt be out alone." Owen declared. Cersei's gaze shifted to Lena and Maisie as Lena locked up the lab. 

"I had a question..." Cersei remarked calmly. 

"I will see you tomorrow." Lena whispered kissing Maisie's temple before moving to owen and Cersei. 

"I had a proposition for you, the both of you." Cersei remarked softly as Lena approached them. 

"Not your whores, you can't pay us off." Lena mused. 

"Lena!" Owen declared. 

"I dont want you." Cersei corrected. "You keep saying how dangerous your dinosaurs are-"

"They are." Lena assured. 

"I want your dinosaurs to kill my husband."
