I woke up and felt like if I rose from the dead. And I was right. I looked around me. Nik was sitting near me rocking back and forth. Rebekah was waking up too. I looked down at my white nightshirt, which wasn't so white anymore. It was covered in red. It was red from blood.
"Eliza!" Nik exhaled and hurried to me.
I looked at him in confusion and fear when
I noticed that his shirt was from blood just like mine and Rebekah's. We all had died. We woke up like if we had been only sleeping and woke up the next morning. Except it wasn't morning, but night."Nik, Eliza, what happened?" Rebekah looked around. "Blood, so much blood." I searched the room with my eyes once again looking for Elijah, Kol and Finn, but they weren't there. Before I got the chance to ask about them, father had come in with some girl. He told us that we needed to feed to complete some transition. I didn't understand until he forced me to drink the girl's blood. As soon as her blood got into my system, my gums hurt like if something was pruning its way out. And it was. My canines were longer and sharper. They turned into fangs. I was a vampire. Our whole family was. Since then, nothing was like it had used to be.
After we became vampires, we had to stay put inside, because just like Ayana had said, the spirits had turned on us. We weren't able to walk on sunlight without burning ourselves. Well, at least until mother found a solution. She had made us rings, which were protecting us from it.
However, our neighbors, werewolves, had been avoiding us since then. Not that it mattered to me. We hadn't been talking to them since Henrik had died. But it was different. Every time we walked out, they hid inside their homes.Nevertheless, the sunlight wasn't the only threat to us. The flower which grew under the very white oak tree, the one me and Thiago had used to meet by, was toxic and the tree was the only thing that could kill us. Only a stake from that wood pierced through our heart could kill us. So we made sure it was burned down.
With what our parents had not counted was the hunger. It was almost impossible to control it. My first kill had been after three days from transition. Until then, I had been starving, because I had not wanted to admit it. I had not wanted to admit myself that I was a vampire and that I needed blood for survival. It had been the worst experience of my life and at the same time the best. I loved to feel blood streaming down my throat. What I hated were the remorse after.
Flashback
---------✨✨✨---------I was in the forest with Rebekah. We were playing hide and seek, when I heard a crack of a branch. It was so loud like if it was right next to me. I turned to the right from where the sound came, but no one and nothing was there. For first I thought it was Bekah. Though, when I stood up from behind the bush where I was hidden and looked around, Bekah wasn't there. At least not in the area I could see to. I decided to look around, because I was sure someone was there nearby. I just didn't see the person.
I was walking through the forest among trees and searching for the person. I had been walking like five minutes, when I saw some girl. But she wasn't alone. There was a boy with her. When I looked closer, I recognized Thiago. I decided to scare him a little.
I vamp-sped to the girl, took her away and covered her mouth to prevent her from making any sound. The girl was struggling with me and trying to scream for help.
I showed her my fangs and red eyes with veins under them, which finally made her stop.
I looked at Thiago, who was pacing around and looking for the girl.He was calling her name. I turned back to the girl, "Well, let's see how you taste, pretty one." I shoved my fangs into her neck and drank her blood. It was the best feeling ever. The sweet taste of blood. Feeling it streaming down my throat into my stomach. It was indescribable.
I thought I would be strong enough, but
I wasn't. There was this voice inside my head telling me to stop. I couldn't. I didn't want to. After a while, her body fell to the ground. She was dead. I didn't care, really. All I cared about was revenge.
I picked up her body and vamp-sped around Thiago, dropping her behind him. He turned around to the sound of her body hitting the ground and ran to her. "Oh God!" He tried to wake her up not knowing it was useless."Hello, Theo," I said, standing behind him with his girlfriend's blood dripping from the corner of my mouth. He turned to look at me and stood up. He almost tripped over the girl's dead body as he was stepping backwards away from me. I smiled at him and slightly tilted my head to the right. Thiago exceeded the body of his dead girl and slowly began backing away from me as I was coming closer to him. He was frightened and that was what I wanted.
"Eliza," he whispered.
"Beautiful girl. What a shame she is dead. She was delicious," I kneeled to her and shoved her long straight black hair, like crow's feathers, out of her face.
"You killed her," he accused me with disgust in his voice. I looked up at him, straightened up and exceeded the dead body. I smiled at him showing him my fangs, which were red from the blood. He winced and made another step back.
"You don't need to worry, my love," I assured him calmly. "It will be quick."
"No," he panicked and began running away.
I gave him a head start and watched him turning around and making sure I was far enough from him. However, when he turned around to look at me for the fourth time,
I wasn't there anymore. He stopped and searched the area for me. I stood behind him and waited for him to realize."You can't run from me, darling," I informed him. As he was stepping back, he stumbled and before he fell to the ground, I had caught him by his shirt and pinned him against the tree. He struggled, but it was useless. It wasn't going to save him. I extended my fangs. Veins appeared underneath my eyes. Thiago's face widened on the sight of me and when I stuck my fangs into his neck to feed on him, his scream spread through the whole forest. Once I drained him off his blood, I carelessly tossed his body away. I felt amazing.
End of flashback
---------✨✨✨---------Yes, I had killed Thiago and I didn't regret it. He had deserved it. I didn't have remorses.
At least I had been telling it to myself. But for sure, I had remorses because of that girl. She had been innocent and I had killed her just because I had wanted revenge on Thiago.I had to learn how to control the hunger. I had to learn to stop drinking so the human could survive.
My siblings weren't any better on it. Especially Nik. With his first kill, we found out an unpleasant thing. He wasn't our brother. Well, he was, but stepbrother. Mother had been unfaithful to our father and had been with another man. With a werewolf. So Nik was both. Vampire and werewolf. When father found out, he was furious. He killed the man and his entire family. He hated even Nik. He also forced mother to cast a spell, which suppressed Nik's werewolf side. With what he denied him to be his true self. However, with that father's rage didn't ended. He killed her. Father killed mother. He ripped her heart out of her chest and Nik saw it all.
After it, he took off in rage and we all stayed alone.Nik and Elijah helped me and Bekah to bury our mother. I knew father was capable of everything, but I certainly wouldn't expect that.
"I know you think she hated you, Niklaus, but she did not," Rebakah said. "She was just afraid."
"I'm sorry she turned her back on you, I will never do that," I joined Bekah with teary eyes.
"Nor will I," Rebekah replied.
"And nor will I," Elijah joined too.
"We stick together as one," Bekah reached out her left hand to me and the right to Nik, "always and forever." We held our hands and stood there in a circle around our mother's grave. Me, Rebekah, Niklaus and Elijah.
