Elijah made me go with him to a Historical society's tea party, or whatever it was. He didn't want to let me from his sight anymore. If he was able to compel me, he would have surely done it and left me home, but since he wasn't able to do that, I had to be there with him.
And if I should talk about the conversation we had had, he wasn't that much angry that I had killed him. Well, he had been, but not anymore. I wouldn't have even expected him to be angry long. After all, I was his favourite sibling.
That tea party we were at, was thrown for him as a visiting writer, who was writing a book about small towns in Virginia. His name was Elijah Smith. How creative.

"Have you spent much time in Richmond for your book? There's such a wealthy history," Carol Lockwood asked him.

"No, I'm focusing mostly on small regions of Virginia. Lot's of research was strictly academic," Elijah replied.

"It's fascinating," Carol smiled at him brightly. That moment was also a moment I stopped perceiving their conversation and concentrated on Damon, who just walked into the room. Elena's aunt approached him, "Damon, what are you doing here?" He didn't get a chance to answer, because some woman came to him. "Hi, you came," she smiled at him happily.

"Hi," Damon replied and they kissed. What the hell? What was that supposed to mean? I looked at Jenna and she looked as if she thought exactly the same thing as me.

"Thanks for introducing us, Jenna," Damon thanked her. So Jenna had introduced them. Why would Damon date this woman? She wasn't his type, not even close. He had her probably just like a blood bag.

"Eliza," Elijah made me return from my mind.

"Yes?" I looked at him.

"Mrs. Lockwood was asking about your love for history," he said.

"Oh," my eyes travelled to Mrs. Lockwood, "I am really good at it. Although, not keen on it. I am more like a future person, but I support my brother as much as I can. He is a very good writer and history is his passion."

"That's so sweet," Carol smiled at me kindly.

"However, my sister loves nature and she is a very good musician. I don't know anyone better than her when it comes to play the piano. She's just amazing," Elijah extolled me.

"Really, dear?" It was probably the way she talked that made me feel like if I was back in 18. century.

"Oh, no. My brother exaggerates. I'm not that good, but yes, I love nature and music."

"She's modest, like always," Elijah commented.

"She's lovely," Carol replied and looked over to Damon, who was coming our way. "Damon."

"Carol," a broad smile appeared on his face.

"What a surprise," she welcomed him and turned to my brother. "Elijah, I want you to meet Damon Salvatore. His family is one of the Mystic Falls' founding families."

"Mhm," Damon turned to look at Elijah. "Such a pleasure to meet you."

"No, pleasure's mine," Elijah reacted politely and they both shook their hands. Damon totally ignored me until Carol spoke again. "Damon, let me introduce you this lovely lady," she pointed to me, "Eliza Smith. She's Elijah's sister."

"Pleasure to meet you, Mr. Salvatore," I pretended to not know him. His eyes were connected with mine, while he stood there without a word. He seemed shocked to see me. So it came to my mind that he had thought I was still in the tomb. Though I would have expected that Stefan had told him.

"Would you believe she was here before Elijah? And I didn't know about her." Carol asked Damon in attempt to break the embarrassing quiet between us. And it worked.
