(Y/N's pov)

I wake up and the first thing I see is König, sitting by the bed.
I slowly sit up, him helping me.

"What happened?"
"You fainted."

I don't remember. All I remember is König and Adam leaving and the rest is a blur.

"God. For how long was I passed out??"
"One hour."

One hour, wasted just like that.
I jump down from the bed.

"We have to test it, the tox- the medicine, tonight." Whoops, I almost slipped up.

"I think Adam has something to do with it."

Adam? He's a weirdo but he doesn't seem like he would do such a thing.
Nonetheless, I try to indulge König.

"Okay, let's see what was in the tea, then?"

I tested the whatever tea was left in the cup for anything suspicious, and it came up empty. Just tea.

"Well, it seems that I was just too tired. Or dehydrated. Anyway, it's fine, we should get ready for... yeah."

König looked dissatisfied with the results, but agreed.

-

It was midnight.

We got ready. I put on some tactical gear provided to me by the army, took a couple of vials with the toxin and put on my mask.
It was a basic ski mask, which I wore back in the day when I got taken in by the military. I was great at close combat, so I don't think I'll need König's protection.

"I look cool," I say to myself, looking in the mirror.

I have not worn the mask in a long time... Brings back memories.

I head to the car, where König is waiting for me.

"Ready to go?" König looked at me for a little longer than usual.
"Yep, let's do this."

We drive for miles, around 4 hours. We didn't talk much, it was mostly me asking him questions and him giving me vague answers, so I didn't learn anything about him.

The one thing I could not stop thinking about was if the toxin works how it should, it will be hard to convince König that it was just a side effect of a special medicine or that I'm an incompetent doctor, and I can imagine he would be a little bit upset that I lied. I hate lying to him.
I look over at him, his hands gripping the steering wheel, eyes focused on the road ahead. His lashes were long, made me envious.

"Why do you wear the mask, König?" I couldn't help myself, this question always plagues my mind whenever I look at him.

He seemed to ignore the question, but after a few minutes he finally spoke.

"I was bullied as a child."

This one sentence explained a lot. His timidness, antisocialness.

"That's a shame. Just looking at your eyes I can tell that you're handsome."

He glanced at me for a moment, eyes twinkling. He let out what seemed to be a laugh, or a scoff, either way I've never heard that come from him before.

The rest of the ride was silent, and soon we were close enough to an enemy camp.

We parked the car a couple of kilometers away, far enough to not to be spotted.

"Let's move," König whispered, his weapon in hand.

As we were getting closer to the camp, I accidentally stepped on a branch. Reckless. I haven't done this in a while so I'm more clumsy than before.

König quickly pulled me down on the ground behind some bushes.

A soldier heard the noise and flashed his light on the place where I stepped on the branch, my blood running cold.

König held his hand over my mouth, and his whole body covered me from sight.

The soldier shrugged it off and kept walking farther away, and I let out a sigh of relief.

"Keep it down! You have to be more quiet, that was close," he scolded me.

He's definitely more verbal when on the battlefield.

We began moving further, looking for a good victim.

The soldier from before seemed to be farther away from camp, so we silently agreed he'd be the best choice.

I told König to stay behind to cover me if something happens, he reluctantly let me go and I moved closer to the guard.

My heart was hammering in my chest, feeling as if it will burst.

But I moved swiftly and quietly, more alert than before.

They didn't call me Cobra in the military for nothing.

I jumped on the soldier, closing his mouth and nose so he wouldn't alert the others. He thrashed around, trying to get me off of him, but I jumped up higher, securing my thighs around his head and getting him down on the ground. I squeezed him tight enough to cut off some oxygen going to his head so he would be on the brink of passing out. I quickly took out the vial with a needle and inserted it into his neck, the liquid flowing in.

He suddenly got up and threw me off with newly found strength and started screaming in pain at the top of his lungs. I hit the ground, hurting my leg at a sharp rock. His body got red in color, eyes red with blood. Suddenly he jumped on me and tried to choke me, but I successfully threw him off before König ran over to assist me. Before he could shoot the soldier, I stopped him, wanting to see the full effects of the drug. The man thrashed on the ground, his limbs bending in weird ways, and after a few moments he combusted into flames.

König looked at his burning body, shock evident in his eyes.
"Was zum Teufel..." (*what the hell*)
The other soldiers in the camp came storming in, shooting at us from all directions.

"Go, go, go!" König took my hand and ran as quickly as possible.

I was much shorter than him, so it was hard to keep up.
He got frustrated that I wasn't fast enough.
He suddenly stopped.

"What are you doing?! We have to go!"
"Heilige Scheiße, just take this and shoot them!"
"Wait, what?!"

He gave me his gun. After I grabbed the gun I accidentally pulled the trigger and almost shot at his leg. I was not that good with firearms.

"I told you to shoot them, not me!"
While he said that, he threw me over his shoulder like I weighed nothing and started running.

It was hard to aim while he was running, but I successfully took some enemies out.

As we were running, one of the soldier shot at me and hit my upper arm, leaving a deep cut.

I took him out, and we neared our parked car.

König quickly put me down and ran inside the car, while I tried to cover him. I noticed he was limping, also hit by some bullets.

He turned it on and drew over some remaining soldiers.

"Get in!"

I jumped in and we drove off.

"What the fuck was that?! I know I'm no doctor, but medicine is not supposed to do that."

I bit my lip, happy the mask covered my face.

"It's just a side effect."
"Blödsinn! So ein Misthaufen!" (*nonsense! what a pile of crap!*)
"I have no idea what you're saying, goddamn it!"
"Tell me the truth, Ärztin."

I stay quiet for a moment, worried about his safety. Should I tell him? It could get him killed, and that's the last thing I want to happen to him.
