"Hiya, doc."

I stand up from my seat, wary of Adam. He's a sneaky bastard, I don't know what he has up his sleeve.

"What the hell are you doing here."
"Ah, so feisty. I've always liked it."

I roll my eyes, about to smack the hell out of him.

"If you don't—"
"Okay, back to business. We have to be professional here, sweet cheeks."
"Hah. Are you delu—"
"Valeria told you to come here, didn't she?"

I look at him. Is he involved in all of this?

"Take a seat, honey."
"Stop calling me that, douchebag. You know I'll fuck you up."
"I know, that's why I'm doing that."

Weirdo.

"Sit. Down."
"I'll stand. Now what the hell is going on?"

Adam smiles and comes closer, but I push him away. I grab the knife I always keep on me and push it into his throat, but careful not to draw blood. Yet.

"Talk."

Adam laughs, amused.

"You should be grateful I'm willing to talk after you've been such a bitch to me."

I wait for him to finally start talking, not moving away the knife.

He suddenly takes the knife from me, which I didn't expect. Losing a lot of blood definitely made me more woozy and less on guard.

"I know you were shot. In your state you're much weaker—"
"Jesus fucking Christ, Adam?! Talk!"

He starts walking around the room, looking around.

"I'll just cut to the chase," finally, "the reason Hassan has his hands on the drug is... because of yours truly! Ta-da!" He finished that sentence with jazz hands. What a loser.
"... What?"
"Oh I love the look on your face. And, well, I'm not the only one responsible, it was actually your doing, too."

What the hell is he talking about? Valeria said the same thing before.

"I see you're confused. It's actually a long story—"
"The short version."
"Heh. Well, I don't know if you remember, but we were actually in the military together."

Together in the military? I don't remember him at all.

"No? You don't remember? You break my heart, Y/n." He holds his hand on his chest.
"Boo hoo. What does this have to do with anything?"
"EVERYTHING!" Adam suddenly shouts, a crazy look in his eyes, which made me jump.

He calms down.

"A couple of years ago, one day you were making your little potions like the witch you are, and one was giving you some trouble."

~Adam's pov~

I was walking by your office when I heard you yell your cold, shriveled heart out.

"God damn it!"

I watched through your window because I was concerned for your safety. You threw a zip locked vial into the trash. Tsk tsk tsk, not very environmentally friendly, doc.
You left the office, and because I'm such a curious soul, I walked right in to see what you were doing before you left.
I saw the notes and the vial in the trash, so I took them out and... utilized them. It got modified, and you did a sloppy job at making the base by the way, and the perfect silent killer was created. One thing led to another, Hassan became our client.

~Y/n's pov~

"So yeah, that's the long story short."
"That's barely anything! Did you work alone? How did you get Hassan to be your client?"
"Uh uh uh, that's all you get. Besides, you'll never find out the full truth anyway."
"How so?"
