I am touching up my make up in the mirror. Everyone is already waiting in the garden, waiting for my arrival. I'm a nervous wreck. It's finally our wedding day, the happiest day of our lives, yet I cannot help but feel anxious. I look at myself in the mirror one last time — I'm wearing the wedding gown of my dreams, my make up is flawless and brings out all of my natural beauty, which makes me feel less anxious. I hear a knock on the bedroom door.
"Come in."
"Heya, lass."John and Simon walk in, both in beautiful black tuxes, and Simon wearing an all black balaclava.
"Hi, boys. How do I look?"
I spin around.
"Wow, you look bloody gorgeous! König is a lucky man. If I had a wife like you I wouldn't wait for the h—"
"That'll do."
"You always like to cut me off, eh?"
"You should've left it without the last comment."
"Why? I was just about to say how I'd—"
"For fuck's sake, Johnny, just leave it."
"Bloody Jesus, I was going to say how—"
"MacTavish."John shuts up after that, grinning.
I smile. Their banter always cracks me up.
"Thank you."
My smile drops.
"I'm too scared to walk the aisle alone. Normally the bride's father would walk her, but I don't have one."
Soap comes up to me and puts his hands on my forearms.
"We actually came here to talk about that. Simon is willing to walk you down the aisle, if you'd like?" He turns to Simon.
My gaze snaps over to Simon's.
"What?"He walks over.
"I'll walk you down the aisle."
My heart fills with joy from his kindness, and I begin to tear up. I fan my eyes to not ruin my make up.
"No, don't cry!" John blows on my eyes, which makes me let out a laugh.
"I love you, guys."
I take both of them in a tight hug. John instantly hugs me back, while Simon is a bit reluctant to do so. He pats my arm that's around his neck.
I let them go and look at the mirror.
"I'm ready."
—
I'm standing behind the big curtain separating the altar and guests from me. Simon is on my side, fixing his tux.
I feel my hands get sweaty, the bouquet in my arms nearly slipping.
Simon takes my arm and puts it over his, securely holding it.
"You'll be just fine."
"I know."Simon looks at me — there's a softness to his gaze. I smile.
"Thank you for doing this."
"Don't mention it."The music starts playing, a cue for us to start walking. The curtains are drawn open to reveal many guests — the Los Vaqueros, John Price, Kate Laswell, John MacTavish and some other people I have met along the way. I look up and see the love of my life, standing at the altar. He adorns a beautiful white tux with a black dress shirt. His blond hair is slicked back. His eyes glistened with tears, and I felt mine were about to burst, too.
Simon squeezed my hand to comfort me.
John threw some flower petals at us, making Simon grumble under his breath and the rest of us laugh.
We finally arrived to the end of the aisle. Simon took my hand and gave it to König. They exchanged a look of understanding and Simon left to his seat.
Me and König could not look away from one another. We barely heard the marriage officiant speak.
We finally got to exchange our vows.
"I do." König puts the wedding band on my finger.
"And you, Y/n, do you take him to be your lawfully wedded husband until death do you part?"
"I do." I put the wedding band on his finger.
"With the power bestowed upon me, I pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."
König leans in and kisses me on the lips. We hear cheers from the guests, John being the loudest.
We walk down the aisle, hand in hand, while the guests throw flower petals at us.
We're finally a family.
