"Alllll~ I'm boredddddd." I pout, slinging myself over the arm of the velvet red loveseat in our mansion, fashioned after our home when we were alive. The demon in question turns away from his book to look at me, making our noses touch. His half lidded smile, almost smirk makes me shiver with excitement. A low jazz tune wafts from the radio in the kitchen into our home.
"It has been pretty tame lately, hasn't it, my little doe?" He questions, pecking my lips lightly.
"Let's go into the city and raise-" He cuts my sentence short with a smirk.
"Hell? I think you might be onto something there, dear. It has been a while since our last rendezvous." He waves his hand, and in a plume of green smoke, his book disappears. He stands, holding his hand for me to take, and with a small smile, I do.
"What a gentleman." I say slyly, winking at him. He rolls his eyes playfully at my antics, kissing my cheek before teleporting us to the center of the city, which is bustling with demons, more so than usual, actually. Alastor meets my confused gaze when no one runs away from us, but towards a wall of TV's. I let a scoff leave my lips.
"Video killed the radio star, huh?" I joke lightly, and his expression looks almost murderous as he makes his way towards the TV's, emitting a menacing radio static as he does. Some demons notice immediately and scamper, but others are too entranced by the pixilated images playing on the screen.
666 News, of course that's what is keeping people's attention. I feel my eyes roll as I make my way to Al's side, emitting my own dark aura. My eyes scan over the plethora of TV's and I see her. Katie mother fucking Killjoy. We had gotten into it once, and let's just say it wasn't pretty. Blood everywhere. I try to hold my tongue as best as I can, but a scoff emits from my lips and Alastor's chuckle reaches my ears.
"-A place to work towards redemption... Yay..." I immediately recognize the young dame on the television. Charlie Morningstar, the princess who always sees the best in others, even if they don't deserve it. I watched her grow up, and I can feel rage engulf my body as i realize what Katie is doing. Charlie looks around with a small frown.
"Look, every single one of you has something good deep down inside, I know you do..." She seems defeated, but inside, I cheer her on. I have no idea what her plan or idea is, but if it's from Charlie, I know it must be something splendid. As if a lightbulb appeared over her head, a wide smile spreads across her features.
"Maybe I'm not getting through to you..." She snaps, suddenly appearing on screen siting atop a piano. She begins singing this beautiful musical number describing her new hotel. I can't help but to smile fondly at the wall, stepping forward, making more sinners run for the hills. My hand rests against the glass as she ends her song.
"Wow," A demon behind the camera says "That was shit!" Laughter breaks out throughout the studio, and Charlie cowers atop the desk. My blood boils a excruciating amount. How dare these demons make fun of someone I hold dear?! I will make them pay. I don't see anything else other than red as I tear into the closest demon in proximity to me with my elongated claws. Alastor's chuckle can be heard as he follows suite. Ripping apart every single demon he could catch. An intricate game of cat in mouse.
The glass is covered in blood, and the streets are empty. I sit, staring at Charlie fighting Katie Killjoy, and winning. My dark aura lightening and a smile gracing my features when the princess lugs the hell out of Katie. I turn towards Al, and he speaks for me.
"Well, let us go then, my dear." He holds out his arm for me to take, and with a snap, my blood soaked clothes are good as new. Alastor actually seems rather clean, since I had done most of the killing this go around.
"You read my mind, my love." I take his arm into my own, and we begin our stroll to the Happy Hotel.
Demons scamper into alleyways and nearby buildings as we leisurely walk, humming a tune or two alone the way. When we were about one hundred yards away from the hotel, we start chatting about the overall appearance the hotel seems to be in. The tall, crimson building seems to be in disarray, the shingles falling off, as well as chipped paint. Moss and vines grow on the sides of the building, and Alastor grimaces.
"Looks like we will have work to do." He fixes his monocle to get a better look, since now we are only about ten feet away from the front doors, a beautiful stained glass door shines back at us.
"Apples. This place must've been Lucie's." You quip.
"No idea what he'd want to do with a place like this." Alastor quips, and you both waltz to the front steps. Alastor raises his hand to knock. We look to each other, but our eyes both snap to Charlie's in unison when she opens the door.
"Hell-" She slams the door in his face with a terrified look on her face. Then she opens the door again.
"Oh." I finish for Alasor, and she looks at me bewildered as she slams the door once more.
"Huh, talk about the manners of a princess." I playfully tease, nudging Alastor lightly. He hums, taking off his monocle and cleaning the little red disk on a cloth from his pocket. He puts it back on just as the princess opens the door. He points at the sky with a limp finger.
"May I speak now?"
