IT WAS ONLY A FEW DAYS UNTIL NATIONALS. The group got to New York and immediately grabbed food and sat on the red steps in Times Square. Willow sat with her food to her side and Sam right in front of her leaning on his elbows for support.

"A year and a half ago, the New Directions were nothing but a group of seven misfits stumbling their way through a horrific rendition of 'Sit Down, You're Rockin' the Boat'. Now here we are," Kurt went on. "At the top of the show choir heap. Nationals!" he squealed.

Willow smiled as she looked around. She'd been to New York a few times but she never got to have any real fun. "I can't wait to go to Central Park and just drink a warm coffee." she said leaning on Sams shoulders with a smile.

"We should go together," Tina smiled. "Like a little date!"

"Yeah!" Willow beamed.

"I wanna throw stuff off the Brooklyn Bridge." Puck said looking towards the three.

"Guys, hold on," Finn said, cutting off anymore ideas. "I mean, we still have two songs to write."

Willow rolled her eyes and laid her head on Sams shoulder dramatically. He looked to her with a small smile.

"Okay, Mr. Bossy Pants." Kurt said to his brother. Finn rolled his eyes slumping down a little at the nickname. "But i think we have some time for a tune before we leave." he said.

He looked around for approval and when no one disagreed he started them off with 'New York, New York' by Frank Sinatra. It didn't take much before everyone else sang along as well.

It was short lived once Rachel skipped to the steps with her hands behind her back. "Guys, i have news." she said. "To celebrate our impending win at nationals, i got us all 14 tickets to Broadway's longest-running show ever, Cats." she beamed holing the tickets to show everyone.

She got a few cheers before Quinn busted her bubble. "You might want to check the dates on those tickets, Rachel, because Cats closed about 11 years ago."

Everyone looked back to the girl while she checked the dates. "He did seem crazy. He charged my credit card by swiping it through his butt crack." she sadly said.

...

Before they knew it, all of them were sitting in the same hotel room. Mr. Schuester went off to do his own thing and put his trust into his kids to write some good songs.

He didn't account for the fact that it wasn't the best idea.

Brittany, Artie and Puck were up front singing a song about a cup. Willow sat next to Finn listening to the song. She didn't think it was bad. Just not great. She even did the little hand gesture like she had a cup.

It was soon over and earned a few scattered claps. "Hold on," Tina said. "Are you singing about a cup?"

"Yeah, totally." Brittany answered.

"We gotta get out of here." Quinn snapped as she grabbed her coat. Willow stood up as well waving her hands for the girl to toss her her own coat.

"Wait. No, no, no." Rachel said trying to stop Quinn from walking to the door with Willow. "Mr. Schue gave us explicit instructions."

"Yeah, to write a song." Quinn said putting her jacket on.

"Only our inspiration is mattresses, soap, and bathroom cups. No offense." Willow said looking to Brittany on her last bit.
