I opened my eyes at ang una kong nakita ang maliwanag at maganda na ngiti ni papa. I walked towards him and cuddled in his arms.

"Did u had a nightmare?" tanong ni papa sa'kin habang hinahaplos niya ang buhok ko.

"Opo, nakakatakot na panaginip, papa. I was being haunted by a monster." I said in a shaky tone, forcing myself not to cry in his arms.

My father suddenly made me look into his black eyes which brings me nothing but warmth.

"Oh really? well, you came into the right hero. Papa will protect you, Kiano." Father smiled at me and kissed my head.

I covered my ears as I try not to hear my mother's cries of pleading as she was trying to stop my uncle... and father for forcing themselves in her.

My whole body could not stop trembling as I could feel my tears roll down my cheeks. I tried to cover my mouth to lessen the noise that my sobs were making.

After all of this was over. Mother came towards me and hugged me tightly in her arms.

"Shh, mommy will protect you, Kiano." My mother gave me a weak smile before passing out on the floor.

Mother was very pathetic.

And here we all are eating at the same dining table as if nothing happened last night.

Yes, that's how my daily night went.

I walked back inside and saw mother hugging the blanket that is wrapped around her. Uncle Arthur came out and looks at me, he gave me a smirk and walk away... as if he didn't mind seeing a child in those disturbing scenarios.

"You said you love me... I stayed with you because I love you, even though how you and your brother torment me and your son!" Mother shouted at my father. This is the first time I have ever seen her full of rage.

She's right... as my memory serves right. Father loved mother dearly, he will always come home with flowers and blossoming words.

"What happened to you, Lawrence?" mother asked with her trembling tone while kneeling to my father who had been emotionless this whole time.
