Chapter 24

Aliah's * POV *
Everyone ran towards her room but a nurse stopped us. " only 3 at a time. " she said. Her dad , step mom, and Sammy stepped forward. They all went in the room. Melina's step mom and dad said something to Melina, gave her a hug and walked out of the room. Sammy just stood there. I saw him start to cry. He walked to her bed sat in the chair next to it and held her hand.

Melina's * POV *
Sammy sat in the chair next to my bed and held my hand. He was crying. He put his head on my hand. " I'm so sorry " he said sniffling. I touched his cheek. I was crying. " it's ok " I said. He just cried into my hand. I ran my hand through his hair. He kissed me. " I love you " he said. That's the first time he's ever said I love you. I smiled. " I love you too. " I said. A tear went down my cheek. " here, I'll go get you something to eat. " he said wiping his tears away. I smiled. " thank you. " I said. He walked out. Cameron, Aliah, and someone I didn't think would be here came in. Nate. I rolled my eyes as I saw him. " why is he here " I said.

" because I was worried " he said taking my hand. I yanked my hand away. Aliah gave him a disgusted look and moved him to the side. She looked at me and started to cry. " why would you... Why would you do this. " she said barely choking the words out. I started crying. " there's just a lot of stuff you don't know. " I said. She paused for a while. " I almost lost you. You're my sister. You better promise me.... Promise me you will never do something like this again. " she said.

" I promise " I said. She gave me a hug. Cameron walked over. He was crying too. I stretched my arms out for a hug. He gave me a tight hug. " I'm so happy you're still here. " he said sniffling. I felt one of his tears hit my shoulder. I squeezed my eyes shut. I pulled away and barely made a smile. They all walked out and everyone else came in. They gave me balloons and Johnson have me a teddy bear. I smiled at them. Everyone have me a hug. " can I be alone for a second ? " i said. They all nodded and left. I looked at my wrist and the scars were still really noticeable. I sighed.

Aliah's * POV *
I walked out of Melina's room and wiped under my eyes. Everyone else was in her room so it was just me and Cameron. I was walking back and forth. " Aliah " he said. I just ignored him. I walked faster back and forth. " Aliah " he said again. I ignored him. " ALIAH " he said stepping in front of me holding my shoulders. My eyes were swollen. My eyes started to water. I put the back of my hand on my forehead. " Cameron she was almost gone " I said looking at him. " you don't understand " I said shaking my head . " yes I do. " he said. I gave him a confused look.

" Aliah I almost lost her too. She's my best friend. We've been friends since we were little. I know how it feels. You can talk to me " he said. He wrapped his arms around my waist and hugged me. He put his head on my shoulder. I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him back. I slowly pulled away. His arms were still around my waist, leaving our faces centimeters apart. He looked at my eyes and then my lips. He slowly leaned in and gave me a passionate kiss. I almost kissed back but pulled away. I looked down. " I can't. I'm sorry. " I said. I turned around and took a few steps when I bumped into someone. I looked up and it was Nash. He looked hurt.

" why would you kiss him? After he hurt you like that? Are you serious? " he said. " I didn't kiss him back " I said. " oh " he said. I looked into his bright blue eyes. His eyes are so beautiful. I slightly smiled. He smiled back. We saw Sammy run up the stairs with 4 pieces of pizza, 2 drinks, candy, and chips. " she hasn't eaten all day " he says walking into Melina's room. I smiled. He cares so much for her. It makes me happy.

Sammy's * POV *
I walked into her room and set the tray next to her bed. She just looked at it. " are you going to eat? " I said. She shook her head. " Melina you're eating. " I said. " I'm not hungry. " she said. " you need to eat " I said. She shook her head. " I'm not eating. " she said. " Melina eat " I said. " I said I'm not hungry ! " she yelled. I was shocked. I just looked at her. Her eyes started to water. I walked to her bed and laid next to her. I wrapped my arms around her.

" you're gonna be ok. I'll take care of you. " I said kissing her forehead. She cried into my neck. I held her tight. It hurt me that she was this hurt and no one knew. I felt a tear roll down my cheek. I rested my head on hers. " I love you " I said. She looked up at me. He cheeks stained with tears. " I love you too " she said. I kissed her passionately. She kissed me back. I pulled away and tucked her hair behind her ear. She nuzzled her head back into my neck and I rested my head on hers again.

I'm never going to let her get like this again. I will protect her with all of my heart. I'll protect her until I die
