After another hour or so, Ivory reluctantly decided to get out of the enormous bed. She didn't want to abuse her host's hospitality, though she would have stayed more if she had that chance.
There was something in this room. The sweet musk of the Alpha's scent was all over the place. Ivory had a sudden awkward desire to plant her face into the sheets, getting deep breaths containing his intoxicating smell.
Her wolf was behaving strangely too. She was running around like an excited puppy in his presence. That was odd...
Ivory took a mental note to ask one of the healers about this. But not now. Now she had to learn more about last night and why she was dressed in provocative underwear in another pack, especially on the future Alpha's bed.
Had something intimate happened between us? The thought caused a cold shiver down her spine. She looked at her body. There was nothing unusual than the already existing scars and old bruises. She didn't feel something sore on her private parts and she sighed in relief.
The cold air brushed her skin the moment the blanket pushed to the side. Goosebumps filled her skin and she instinctively crossed her arms over her chest to cover but was not doing much. Her bare feet touched the wooden floor carrying her weak body.
She was looking for a bucket of water that she could use to clean herself but found nothing. Instead, her eyes fell on the enormous bathroom that was visible through the half-opened door next to the small desk opposite the bed.
Overcoming the hesitation rising within, Ivory walked slowly towards it. Pushing the door more to the side she came face to face with a massive space that she only witnessed in Alpha Remus's house.
The bathroom was dressed in warm crème and light brown colours. The air had the faint scent of eucalyptus. A large basin was occupying the wall on her side as she entered, with a large mirror above it. On the side of it, a small packet of crisp white towels was placed with a note on top. Ivory walked closer and took the note in her fingers. Brushing the towel's fabric she was amazed by its softness of it.
These are for you. It is suggested you use the green little bottle you'll find in the shower. The eucalyptus would help you heal better.
P.S. On the top of the drawer, you'll find a clean set of underwear and clothes. I hope they fit you well.
Lola
Eyes scanning the area she let her mouth drop open in awe when she turned and saw the rest of the room. The opposite side of the bathroom was covered by a vast walk-in shower to the one corner and an even bigger bath tab on the other.
She zoned out at the sight of them. They were definitely built for someone much taller and larger than her and her mind raced to the man she saw when she woke up. The man that addressed as the future Alpha by the healers.
Her cheeks burnt as the image of him appeared behind her eyes, naked in the bath. Ivory shakes her head sideways immediately trying to shove that image away. Why did she imagine this? She couldn't understand. Both her body and her wolf were behaving oddly and comprehending this was above her.
Without further ado, Ivory takes off her clothes and places them on the floor. She enters the shower and turns the tap open. She startles suppressing a yelp when water drops fall – like a soothing rain from the ceiling – on her.
She closed her eyes and tilted her head back. The warm water was hitting her face, running down to her body – like a balm – getting away from all the stress and exhaustion and fear she had experienced the last two or more days.
The separation from Alice, her abduction moments later and finding herself in an entirely different place were circling her mind like mosquitos in the blue light. So many questions that needed answers.
Ivory sighed in relief when she had a fair share of enjoying the soothing abilities of the warm water and reached for the little green bottle Lola was referring to in her note. The room filled with the scent of eucalyptus – that combined with the steam – created the perfect combination.
Taking a small amount of the green cream in her hand, she rubbed it on her body, letting the healing properties of the substance be absorbed by her skin. She was absorbed in her thorough cleaning process that she froze momentarily when she thought she heard a soft growl coming from outside.
Was the eucalyptus able to create hallucinations and play with her mind? She wondered. She stopped and tried to focus on her hearing though the running water was creating interference. The glass walls of the shower were blurred, blocking her view.
Was someone here?
Ivory placed her palm on the glass and swiped to the side, revealing a part of the bathroom looking at the door. There was nothing. She tried to listen again. Nothing. It was probably her idea. Ivory turned back taking her bath but a peculiar feeling was stirring in her stomach. A feeling that someone's watching.

The situation was worse than he was expecting. Wayne was standing behind the door of his study, chest panting and eyes glowing golden.
The knock on the door earlier was from Lola, to inform him that she had left clothes and towels for her, back in his bedroom. He gave her a nod and a soft smile though disappointment was lying underneath. He wanted to see Ivory.
Laying back on the chair, he formed her name with his lips. How beautiful it sounded. He was meant to call that name – so natural to his tongue – and only that.
He said to find him when she's ready. So, crossing his arms behind his head, he waited for her to come to him.
However, his wolf was on edge. He wanted to get a glimpse of her now. Trying to tame the beast within, Wayne lost the fight seconds later. Because he wanted to see her too.
With a swift move, he stood up and walked out of his study, crossing the long hall to the other end of it, where his room was. With stealthy mastery, he turned the knob and slowly opened the door. His eyes were drawn like magnets on the bed.
Empty.
His ears got immediately the sound of running water from inside the bathroom. His instincts were close to resembling those when he was out hunting. His heart hammered like a drum, sending a deafening sound up to his ears. Heat flowed like lava, occupying every cell of his. Chest rising up and down fast and pure animal instinct taking over.
Standing close to the door frame, he picked a look at the inside. Her sweet and delicate scent was filling the room, tickling his nostrils. He took a deep breath in and let it conquer his senses. The glass was covered with steam but her shadow was perfectly visible, making something tug in his chest.
Heaven.
Lost in the blissful moment, his body acted on its own accord, taking him completely off guard. A low growl escaped his mouth and his eyes glowed ever brighter. Wayne took a step back, hiding his large frame from the opening. That sound... It was the first time he made that sound. Could this be...
The mating call?
The cease of movement from the bathroom's interior caused him to stand still. Did she hear it?
Instincts on fire, he waited silently for anything. If she opened the door of the shower to step outside, he had to act fast and vanish before she reaches the door frame of the bathroom. The seconds became aeons as he stood there. The tension in his body was crushing him.
Until he decides to take a look again. When he spots her palm resting on the glass cleaning the veil of mist between them, he turns and runs outside the room.
Now, being back in the safety of his space, away from prying eyes, he let a smile form on his lips. He was behaving like a schoolboy, completely inappropriate for a future Alpha but so delightful for his heart and soul.
