Ivory feels like entering into a giant bubble where time stops when their lips unite. A range of emotions, bursts like a river setting free, flowing fast through her. Unprecedented emotions she couldn't decipher. Wayne's lips gently touch hers with tenderness but there's a long-awaiting need behind. His arms tighten the grip around her. The sensation is magical.

Wayne's strong chest comes into contact with hers, the friction through her light fabric making her nipples harden. His hands are tracing patterns on her back while he's nibbling at her lower lip to grant him entrance and get a better taste of her.

Her hands are planted on his broad shoulders, gripping him for good. Each touch stimulates her senses and her heart swims in bliss. Never in her life could she ever imagine...

One of Wayne's hands slides from her waist and slithers in front, tracing a path from her abdomen to up and cupping one of her breasts. Giving a gentle squeeze causes Ivory to moan against his mouth. That's all he wanted.

Her reaction pumped more blood to his already hard-rock length and his tongue marches into her mouth. Ivory's breaths are short and struggling. "Breathe from your nose" Wayne stops momentarily the kiss before he ravishes her mouth again.

As in a sensual dance, his tongue travels in her, mapping every bit of her mouth and charging into a courtship with her own tongue. Every thought is blocked and her mind turns empty, surrendering completely to this new sensation.

When the kiss breaks, Wayne rests his forehead on Ivory's their breaths getting tangled as each breathes from the other. His musky scent enters her system, wiping away any objection she might have had before.

One of her hands travels downwards until it rests on his chest. She could feel Wayne's heartbeat, beating fast under her hand. A warm wave spreads from his heartbeat through her hand, spreading over her body. With her breath still uneven, she opens her eyes to meet his.

Two glowing amber eyes hold hers captive the moment they meet. Taking a brief look at her swollen lips, Wayne lets a growl escape his throat. A growl he was struggling to hold himself back from it.

The mating call.

Ivory's eyes widen from surprise. That was like nothing she'd heard. But it was making her very existence vibrate to his tune. However, a dark realisation sinks in her mind and her face darkens.

"Why did you do this?" she asks almost breathless. "I'm a high priestess and you already have a mate. And a child." Her eyes fill with water. "This is wrong." her voice trembles.

Grabbing her by the shoulders, Wayne looks deep into her eyes. "This is not a mistake. It is right. If feels right. That kiss filled the void in my heart for a very long time. That kiss gave life and hope back to me. And I know that you felt the same as well. Am I wrong?" Wayne whispers while his hand cups her cheek, his thumb brushing gently from her lower lip.

Ivory closes tight her eyes before she nods in agreement. No matter how wrong this kiss might be seen in her mind, her heart thought otherwise. "How...? How do you know how it felt to me?"

A sheepish smile appears on his face, making Ivory's heart melt even more. "Because you are my fated mate. We have a bond that connects us. And when we're close, we reflect our feelings to one another."

Wayne's calloused hand continues to softly rub her cheek getting all her stress and replacing it with tenderness and love. He watches in anticipation as his words sink into her mind, waiting patiently for a reaction.

This was a huge load to be carrying for all this time and finally getting it out of his chest was a great relief. However, guilt started to fill his lungs and tugged on his chest as he let Ivory walk in the dark and in complete ignorance. Maybe... if she knew... things might be different?

"Tell me I'm hallucinating, please" Ivory whispers. "Tell me that is just a dream." he pleads with her big brown eyes. Her lips are lightly trembling as feelings crush her.

"It's not a dream, nor a hallucination," Wayne speaks, his voice becoming a loving purr. "We are destined for each other. The silver goddess shining above us has placed us on each other's path. You're my life, my breath, my one and only heart's desire."

"How long you know about this?" Ivory's voice comes out in a strange mix of emotions fighting within her. She doesn't take her eyes off his. But her face looks more serious with every passing minute.

"Since the night I saved you." His hands wrap around hers, drawing light circles with his thumbs on her pale skin. "We've met before when I visited your former pack with my late father, but at that time I didn't know. Lola speculated that your shift to your wolf triggered our bond, which happened at a later stage."

Ivory drops her face and a few tears escape from her eyes. The next moment, Wayne is taken aback by the rage and confusion spreading across her features when she lifts her head. She seems like a storm at large.

"You knew all this time and told nothing to me?" her voice cracks with emotion. "All this time kept in the dark? Taking decisions that have sealed my fate that probably are all wrong? Depriving me of a choice?"

Wayne watches silently as Ivory unleashes the sorrow, stress and anger that have simultaneously stung her heart, causing a wave of pain to wash over her. He hated seeing her like this, and knowing he was the reason for causing such pain to her was ripping his insides out.

"I remember looking at my parents as a child and always admiring the love reflecting in each other's eyes. They way they smiled at each other. The way they were sitting outside, looking at the sky, and the tenderness as they were holding each other in their arms. They said to me once that when I find him, I'll know."

The words land on Wayne's ears, deeply drawn in sorrow. Each word feels like a stab in his heart. And he totally deserves it.

"After all I've been through, all the abuse and the punishments the very next day after my parents' death, I still hang on to that belief. I kept telling myself that one day, I'll be happy. The harder the punishment the more I kept telling it. It was my balm."

Ivory pauses, drawing a shaky breath. "Finding your fated mate is the ultimate blessing. And now we can't have it." she snaps before she gets away from Wayne's grasp and runs away from him.
