Standing in Drake's bedroom window, dressed only in his shirt, Evelyn watches outside as the fairies are transported. A new day has come and Evelyn is determined to make it count.
Her green eyes flash in the darkness when she spots Ivory. A low threatening growl rises in her throat but she silences herself before Drake hears it and wakes up.
Tonight she will get rid of her for good.
When Evelyn came to the Moon river pack as Drake's mate, one of the conditions was to manage this part of the business operations Alpha Remus had gotten into. Drake was not to be involved again with the merchandise in any way.
And this was the perfection of what she was planning to do to Ivory. Drake or no one else would have to attend the auction. Evelyn had proven her credentials in the first place. She was most trusted by Alpha Remus and may any divine entity show pity to anyone who dares to challenge his trust.
Now, all that was left was to wait until the sunset. Then her worries will be over. Ivory would be gone and Drake would be all hers. It's not that he wasn't - after all, nothing between Ivory and him was going on. But she will be more at ease this way.
Walking away from the window, she moves with light steps towards her dress - lying on the floor and picks it up. Putting it on, she slides her feet into her dark red heels and exits the room.
The branches of the trees are dancing violently in the wild cold air outside. Getting a coat from the wardrobe room - right next to the main entrance - she puts it around her shoulders stepping outside.
The dozen of wolves have just put all fairies - and Ivory - into the lorry. When they spot Evelyn they move fast and in a blink of an eye, they stand straight in a perfect line in front of her.
"Everything is ready." the wolf in charge states. "They are ready for transport."
Evelyn gives them all a cold calculating look that makes most of them try hard not to avert their gaze from fear. They know what she is capable of. "Very well then, proceed," she orders.
The wolves scatter. Two of them take their positions in the lorry while the rest get into the cars - one of which waits for Evelyn. The engines purr in the silence surrounding the forest at this early time of the day. Evelyn gives a final glance back over her shoulder as the car rolls onto the humid ground.

Wayne paces up and down in his room. Every vein in his body pumps with stress about the mission to be conducted in a few hours. "May the goddess helps us" he whispers, turning his face to meet the sun out of his window, already completing its round for the day and giving slowly the stage to the night.
But his mind cannot forget the pale fragile form he met. Her eyes... He could see a world crumbled down to pieces. Her mouth... fallen agape the moment she lifted her head to look at him. Her hands... cold and trembling.
Alpha Remus had mentioned something about her being the Omega...
Wayne let the air get out of his lungs with a loud puff through his mouth. A part of him wished he could save her too. Based on the way they treated her - at least what he saw - she must be having a hard time.
A knock on the door breaks his train of thought. Wayne gives permission and the door opens to reveal Rhys. The strong wolf enters the room. His bright blue eyes were clouded with worry.
"I know," Wayne speak low getting the vibe of his Beta. "We can do this."
"Are you sure Wayne?" Rhys whispered. "You have my total support on this, but we don't even know who the other bidders are. If we cannot offer more than them to buy them all?"
Wayne nodded, acknowledging the concerns of his best friend and future Beta. "I can only hope for the best," he speaks reaching a hand to Rhys's shoulder, giving him a comforting squeeze.
"There's something else I want to tell you about." the sudden change in Rhys's tone makes Wayne's body stiffen as if he's preparing to accept a punch in his stomach. "Alpha Mason..." he breathes out gathering the strength to keep talking. "After the visit to the Moon river pack, he's considering options for your mate. Since you haven't found your moon blessed yet, he suggests you start dating and choose another one. He claims it would be prestigious to ascend as Alpha with a mate by your side."
Wayne's eyes widen slightly upon hearing the words of his father, carried by Rhys. "Is he serious?"
"He has already made a list of the most suitable females of the pack to make a good match for you. He wants them to have status on the pack as well. This will make things easier, he said."
Wayne felt like a vine around his torso, getting tighter and tighter, blocking his lungs from taking a full breath. All these years he had avoided his father's preaches on this matter quite skillfully. Until the moment things couldn't push further.
Then he had an extensive talk with Alpha Mason on how important is for him to find his fated mate. Being an Alpha wasn't easy and having your other half with you would make the transition harmonical for both him and the members of the pack.
"I don't understand why he's so persistent about it" Wayne shakes his head sideways. "I've made myself very clear upon this matter. I thought I had his support and he had accepted the way I want it." he crossed his muscular arms in front of his chest.
"Maybe you should pay a visit again in the nearby packs," Rhys suggested shrugging his shoulders. "Or go further up in the north, there are more of us in the cold forests. It would be easier now before you take charge. Alpha's cannot be long away from their packs."
Wayne let the air out of his lungs with force out of his nose. Rhys was right. When his place as Alpha would be established he has to spend at least a full year without going away from his territory.
It was tradition, and traditions must be honoured.
"Let's get done with this tonight and then I'll see what I can do," Wayne murmured. Getting a glance outside, the moon was already in his vision. Wayne takes his black suit from the chair and puts it on. "Let's go, it's time." orders as he takes the wooden mask from his drawer and exits his room, with Rhys following right behind him.
