"God, I love you.' Theo said breathlessly.

Liam laughed, "I'm giving you my History notes, that seems a little overboard."

"Nope, I love you. I get to say that now, so I'm going to." He kissed the top of Liam's head.

School was interesting when you were dating someone. Liam loved that he got to see Theo so much. Even if they didn't have a class together they saw each other in passing or during lunch. Theo seemed far more comfortable too. Since Isaac had realized that Theo and him had a lot in common and a lot of similar interests they started talking more. They weren't best friends, but they would talk in classes they shared. Liam appreciated that Isaac was making an effort to let his protectiveness get pushed slightly to the side.

People looked at Theo all over the school. Less now that his 'new kid charm' had worn off, but there were still people that would let their gazes linger. Liam didn't mind. He understood, Theo was hot as hell. He would do the same, and he did. Theo was a little bit worse. They hadn't been too obvious about their relationship the first week back. Mainly because there was some stress with tests coming up before winter break and they were all busy and a bit distracted. However, Theo had become, what Liam could only describe as, vigilant.

On the first Monday after they had gotten back from the storm break, Liam was walking to the second to last class of the day with Theo. Liam had been telling a story and was gesturing wildly with his hands. Theo wasn't holding either of them, and aside from the way Theo was looking fondly at him, there was no indication that they were in a relationship.

A guy walked by. He looked like he was probably a senior, and he seemed like the football player type, not that the school had a team. He was walking with two of his friends. Talking about whatever and then his eyes landed on Liam. Liam didn't notice his gaze as he stopped by his locker, but Theo did. Theo did and he suddenly felt the energy shift. Y'know those videos on Youtube and TikTok where they'll be a person like, standing putting groceries in their car, dog at their feet, and one of those people dressed in those big puffs pad will pretend to be a stranger. The way they stand at the owners feet and turn following the person with its body while keeping itself close enough to protect their person? That. That is what Liam saw when he turned around. Theo was standing protectively, eyes glued to the group of guys whispering across and down the hall.

"Theo?" Liam said.

Theo growled. Liam froze.

"Christ, Theo you have to be careful, you can't do that here. What... what are you looking at?" Liam moved to the side to look at what Theo was staring at, the group of guys they had passed, he only caught a glimpse, and could tell they were talking and laughing about something before Theo stood in the way again.

"Theo, if you don't stop they're gonna notice," The halfway was big enough that it wouldn't be too weird for two people to be standing at their lockers, but the death glare that Theo had on the guys would draw attention.

"They're talking about you," Theo said with a low growl at the back of his throat.

Liam was surprised, "What? What do you mean?"

"They're talking about you. I don't like it," Theo's eyes wouldn't leave them.

"T, what are they saying?" Theo's gaze stuttered, but he stayed silent, "You can't say that they're talking about me and then not say what."

"They're talking about asking you out.'' he trailed off.

Liam could tell that Theo wanted to rip their heads off, but that probably wouldn't go well.
