Private Johnson POV
July 10th, 1968, My unit of the 1st Marine Division had arrived in the gate just as the war escalated and things were quiet in the Army base at Fort Alnus. However, the Marines were to establish their own base near the coast. We had to put it together ourselves and build it we did into a mighty fortress of democracy! We decided to name it after a Jap general at Guadalcanal as a joke. so it was christened Fort Imamura of the United States Marine Corps. we also set up the Indiansville base and locals who were displaced settled the area outside the base, creating a town, naming it Indiansville after our base.

July 18th, 1968, we were marching out and singing Mickey Mouse as we Marched around, destroying enemy emplacements and fortresses, burning and evacuating villages nearby them and going on patrols. Joker went philosophical on the march back and we were ready to give ourselves some rest and relaxation. Hartman shouted at us as usual about our singing and we just went on and on with our day until we got the authorization to rest from the command for the time between now till the SGT can get some more marine recruits from the other side.
