Chapter Thirty-three ✿

We ran up the mountain a little more when some dude flung out of it, and landed straight on the ground, Him and Tanjiro made eye contact

"H-help me please im begging you!" He pleaded

"Hes got the corps uniform on, hes a demon slayer.." I said, looking over to Tanjiro, Zenitsu catching up behind us,

"Something bad must be going on in there, we need to go in now!" Tanjiro said, bolting in immediately, "Wait for me!" I said, running up with them, not noticing zenitsu being left behind.

We stopped in front of the man, "Are you okay? What happened!? Whats going on in there??" I asked, He looked back at us with the most tired eyes as he got dragged back into the forest.

"Please help me! Im begging you!" He yelled

The silence overtook for a moment, we stood there captivated by it, I froze in shock, and fear taking second to process what just happened.

Suddenly Tanjiros expression became a shocked one, and then a confident one, "..I'm going in."

Inosuke walked in front of us both "I'm going in first, you three can follow behind me and tremble in fear" I rolled my eyes, I actually was kind of, trembling in fear, not that I love admitting it, but I guess Tanjiro took notice of it, He gently grabbed my hand, grabbing my attention and nodded as to say 'its gonna be okay.' I nodded back and we started to head in.

We carefully walked though the forest, being aware of our surroundings, "Huh, what is this?" Inosuke said looking down at his hands, which were covered in spider webs, We looked around to see millions of spider webs with tiny spiders in them,

"Jeez, this place is full of spider webs, they in my way, damn it!" Inosuke yelled, I turned back to the direction we came from, "Nope, no thanks absolutely not, i am going back right now" I began to walk back when Tanjiro grabbed my arm and pulled me back, "Nope, not only do you not where you're going, you're going to get hurt.Not on my watch." He said, I lightly blushed.

Inosuke started raging at the spider webs again "Hey guys," Tanjiro said catching both me and inosukes attention. "Thank you." We looked at him confused "It was nice of you guys to say that you'd come in with me. I was relieved, that ominous scent i was picking up from the mountain scared me a little bit, so having you guys here, made me feel better.. So thanks"

I stared at him in awe for a second until he redirection our attention to something else, "Y/n, Inosuke" He said, and tapped my shoulder, We looked a little further into the forest and saw a person, "Lets go" Tanjiro said, and so we did

We snuck up behind him, me putting my hand on his shoulder to grab his attention,
He gasped, "We've come to help out, Im tanjiro Kamado, Rank mizunoto." Tanjiro said

"Rank mizunoto?" THe guys expression quickly turned to one of outrage and fear "Are you serious!? They should have sent us a hashira! No matter how many mizunoto they send in it wont be enough-" He said being cut off by a punch to the face

"Inosuke!" Tanjiro scolded

"Oh shut up! The only thing I see around here thats not enough, is this sputtering bowl of sweat in front of me!"

"Inosuke thats enough!"

"No I actually agree!" I stepped in "How are you gonna have absolutely no faith in your own comrades! Thats the exact type of thought process thats gonna get you killed!" I yelled

"Y/n! You're supposed to be on my side!"

Inosuke grabbed the guys head, "Now why dont you tell us, just what the hell is going on here??"

"W-who do you think your talking to, are you forgetting that i have seniority?? The crow g-gave us orders to come to this place.." He said, struggling to get inosukes hands out of his hair. "And ten of our corps members gathered here.. Not long after we entered the mountain, t-thats when it started.." He stuttered

"Thats when what started?"

He looked up at me "The slayers began killing each other..I...I-I was so...so Terrified"

We all stayed silent for a second, I look behind me to see tanjiro paying attention to everything this guy was saying,

And for a split second in that moment, I felt a spark of some sort, And came to terms with the fact that maybe just maybe, I did have feelings for Tanjiro..
