Yu woke up in the middle of the night , he was soaking in cold sweat . Apparently he had another nightmare , his whole night so far had been like this . He could barely get a wink of sleep , and if he did it would only last for minutes before the ghost of Kaede's face comes to haunt his dreams , snapping him back to reality. The world around him was still dark , with the fog that enveloped the city obscuring what little light was coming from the outside through the window . The only thing he could see was the digital clock next to him , which flashed the numbers 03:23 in red color . His mind went back to the events that took place in the world inside the TV , and his failure to save Kaede , but also to Margaret's words and what she told him in the velvet room , but those thoughts were interrupted when he heard a soft knocking on the door
" are you okay ? " came a soft voice from the partially open door , he recognized that voice as Nanako's , even though he couldn't see her in the dark room
" Nanako ? Are you there ? " Yu slowly sat up , trying to focus his gaze at the door , but he still couldn't see her
" I was going to the bathroom when I heard you ... you were mumbling something , but you big sis told me not to wake someone who's dreaming ... "

" I ... I see ... well , I'm going to the bathroom now ... " Nanako muttered quietly , before leaving

He didn't know with what kind of face he should greet his friends . For the lack of a better description , they parted ways on a haunting notes . Their last search through the world inside the TV was nothing short of horrifying , and by the end of it all , they failed to safe Yukiko's mother and had to see her die before their eyes . Moreover , after the conversation with Margaret , Yu had the feeling that their failure was his responsibility. Sure , he had promised Margaret that he wouldn't let this happen again , but that doesn't erase the tragedy . In the end , he took a deep breath and entered the classroom , he couldn't look any student around him in the eye , and instead he kept his gaze at the ground or the window . Outside , the sky was bright and the weather was cool , a sharp contrast from how it was yesterday . Yu sat quietly in his place , behind him Yosuke was sitting quietly , but Chie seemed to be absent . Yu looked at her seat , wondering if she was alright . Yosuke noticed him looking at her seat , and he realized what he was thinking , so he quietly poked his back to get his attention .
