The exhaustion Yui felt at the end of the day made her feel like gravity had tripled beneath her seat, a feeling she thought she shared with the entire classroom. After all, this was the last day of the exams that week, concluding a week of sleepless nights, bottles of coffee and energy drinks to keep her eyes peeled for all-nighters. While this was a regular occurrence for her whenever she had an exam, the exhaustion she felt was still soul-sapping, she was lying on her desk, her head buried in her arms, while the noise of the classroom around her was muffled. To her right several students had completely surrounded Midori, hammering her with questions about the exam while the poor girl had her eyes darting around frantically as she was trying to process their words. With Setsuna's help, she managed to get the students off of the poor girl, before she turned to the exhausted Yui.
" you're okay? You look like you're having the hangover of a lifetime! " Setsuna remarked, pulling a seat to sit while facing Yui
" uuuggghhh... munu mie... " Yui grumbled incoherently with her face buried in her arms. Being what she was saying, she raised her head and repeated an irritated " ugh! I wanna die! My head feels like it's about split in half from the exhaustion, my eyes are burning like if I stuffed them with grounded wasabi! "
" yeah... I know how you feel, sister... " Aiko behind her, slumped in exactly the same way, sobbed in despair " I had to pull an all-nighter just to catch up... and I still don't think I can pull through this! Ugh! I don't want to go into summer school again! "
" but... um... you were doing so well back when we were revising, Fuyumi-san... " Midori asked timidly " did you pull an all-nighter, too? "
" it's not like I wanted to... " Yui cried, running her hand through her golden hair " whenever I think of an exam I have tomorrow, I can never go to sleep! "
" but... but we had exams continuously for the whole week... "
" yes! And I've barely slept through any of them! Only when my brain starts shutting down, and whenever I close my eyes I keep seeing nightmares about the exams or something! I just want to go back home and keel over my bed for the entire weekend! "
" saAaAaAAame here... " Aiko chimed in, raising a sloppy and weary hand up to emphasize her point, before extending it to Setsuna " please... carry me... "
" you two girls are being melodramatic... get up and walk on your own... " Setsuna sighed
The four girls were among the last to leave the classroom, at first Aiko tried to convince Midori to carry her, but Setsuna quickly hushed her up. With this lighthearted banter, Yui just phases through the corridors of the classroom. The stairs were her biggest hurdle, she feared she might trip and fall down, or the constant hopping motion of going down the stairs would make her nauseous. Though the walk to the school entrance seemed eternal, it eventually concluded with the girls arriving at the lockers. The voice of their chatter was distant to Yui, who was already half-asleep while she tried to open her locker. However, the sudden screech that came from that small locker startled them all, and before Yui could process what was happening, she was faced with a furious cat on her face, scratching and clawing at it. It all lasted a little over one second, but it was enough to jolt the girls awake again. Setsuna quickly realized that it was a cat trapped in Yui's locker, whicu furiously bursted out the moment Yui opened the door.
" ahahahaha! What in the world was that? " Aiko laughed hysterically at the situation " was that cat trapped in your locker the whole time?! "
" Fuyumi-san?! Are you okay?! " Midori asked anxiously, looking at the tiny thin scratches on Yui's cheeks and forehead
" grr... damn it... " Yui's fists were trembling in fury, before she slammed her locker door in rage, screaming " GODDAMMIT!! I'll get them for this!!! "
