A/N: The story starts in 2016, when Jade and Perrie are 18, and the present is in the begining of 2020 (we are gonna pretend rona didn't happen), when they're both 21.

2016 Cairo International Airport, Egypt

Norma was tightly hugging Jade, as if she was afraid of losing her.

"Mom, as much as I love you, I have to go or I'll miss my flight."

"I know Habib, but being away from my baby will be hard." Norma said drying her eyes

"I know mom, it will be hard for me being away from you too."

Norma finally let go of Jade.

"You take care alright, sis, and we are only one call away." Zeeko said with one final hug

"OK" Jade replied, smiling. She heard her flight's call and began walking towards the gate, waving to her mother and brother.

"Bye guys" she said, blowing a kiss.

"By Jadey" they said in unison.

Jade's Pov

I was ecstatic; I couldn't believe that I was finally in the UK and that I got to go to my dream college. Despite being wrecked from the long flight, I was really happy. Today I was also going to meet my roommate; from what I know about her, she seems nice, and I hope we will get along well. She offered to pick me up at the airport since I don't know anybody here and it would be easier for me not having to look for her apartment, and I accepted. Now I was waiting for her.

3 weeks ago - Perrie's Pov

"I can't believe you're abandoning me." I was whining to my best friend.

"Stop being a drama queen, Pez" Leigh joked as she sealed the last box.

"I'm not being dramatic; you'll leave me all alone just so you can be glued to Andre all day." I always made fun of her because she was really mushy with her boyfriend. They were childhood best friends who began dating five years ago, when they were 15 years old. She always said I'd be mushy when I found the right one, which I doubt very much, but whatever.

"We'll still hang out a lot; besides, we go to the same college, so we'll see each other every day."

"I know, I'm just fucking with you." I replied

"Oh, you wish, baby" Leigh said, sending me a playful wink. Leigh knew I was bisexual, leaning more towards girls, and we always made those kinds of jokes. She was cool with my sexuality, as were my family and friends.

"You know me" I said playfully. "Oh, I went on the website you told me about."

"The college one where you can find a roommate?" She asked

"Yeah, that one." I said grabbing my macbook "There are some interesting people there, but I wanted your opinion."

"Let me see." She took the laptop from my hands and started looking through the profiles I saved. "I like this one the most" she pointed, showing me Jade Badwi's profile.

"Yeah, I liked hers too. I think I'll message her and let her know I'm interested." I said

"See, you won't be alone after all" she said.

Heathrow Airport, England - Jade's Pov

My roommate's name was Perrie, and she messaged me around 3 weeks ago on the website, where I had set up a profile to look for a roommate. It was only for college students, and you had to provide documents to show you were indeed in college, so it lessened the chances of ending up in a creep's house.

We talked a few times during those three weeks, and yesterday she told me to wait for her by the gates and that she'd be wearing an F1 race jacket and that she was blonde with long hair and blue eyes, so I'd be able to spot her. After 3 minutes of waiting, she appeared, I waved while going towards her so she could see me too.

She noticed me and smiled. She was stunning. There aren't any pictures on the website, so I didn't know what to expect, but it definitely wasn't that. She came to me and greeted me with a hug, which caught me off guard since everywhere I read about living in Europe said that European people tended to be more cold and reserved, and Perrie seemed the opposite.

"Hi Jade! I was so excited to meet you. How was your trip, by the way?" She said picking up my bags.

"It was great but really exhausting," I said.

"Don't worry, soon enough we'll be home, and you will be able to rest" she said sweetly.

We went to her car, and I was really surprised and impressed when I saw she had a vintage convertible.

"Wow! Your car is awesome; it looks like something out of a James Bond movie" I said, entering the car, and Perrie laughed.

"Thanks, that's my baby. It's a Jaguar E-type from 1961." She said

"It's really beautiful. Did you buy it like this, or did you restore it?"

"I restored it with my dad when I was 16. It was a fun project for us to work on together since I didn't see him as much as I used to because he and my mother divorced. He got married again and has another child."

"Do you have any other brothers or just one half sister?" I asked curious.

"I have an older brother named Jonnie; he's 22; and my half sister Caitlin is 12. What about you? Any brothers or sisters?"

"I have an older brother named Zeeko; he's 22."

"Where did you live in Egypt?" She asked

"Madinaty, is in northwest New Cairo." I replied

"As a Brit, I apologize for my ancestors stealing your stuff to put in the British Museum," she joked, and I laughed loudly.

"You are forgiven, Miss Edwards," I replied.

The car ride was filled with jokes and us getting to know each other more. I also discovered that Perrie, like me, enjoyed Motown and pop; she was obsessed with classical rock; and her parents were proper rockers and named her after Steve Perry.
