trigger warnings: mentions of injury and guns and more flirting.

Morning quickly came, and everyone congregated to talk about the organisation for the search that was going to take place that day. Lucy and Daryl had found a lead the day before, which everyone was discussing when Alison walked over to join the group once she was finished with her chores around the house. She threw Shane a smile, which he reciprocated.

"If you wanna learn to shoot, you can come to training tomorrow, I'm a qualified trainer" Shane spoke to Beth's boyfriend, Jimmy.

"Mornin'" Ali said, looking over at Shane "Did you just say you're a qualified shooting instructor?" She asked Shane, who nodded.

"Yes Ma'am, you wanna come along tomorrow?" He offered.

Alison nodded "Guns were never really my thing but knowing how to use one wouldn't go a miss" She shrugged.

"I'll see you back here tomorrow then?" Shane asked, giving her a look.

"I look forward to it" She reciprocated with a wink. "Good luck on your search today" Ali said before turning on her heels and heading back to the farm house.

Back at the farm, preparations were being made for everyone to enjoy a meal together. The idea belonged to Carol and Lori as a means of gratitude for Hershel and his people for letting them stay and although she wasn't the best cook, Alison was more than happy to assist them. She began by collecting the ingredients for the recipe Carol had in mind before helping peel and prepare the vegetables. This type of life still wasn't what she was used to, even after almost a year but slowly she was beginning to adapt.

Alison helped out in the kitchen, peeling potatoes and the like until Lori and Carol assured her that they had things under control and that she should go and rest, which she agreed to and left with a smile. As she turned the corner out of the kitchen, she saw Maggie and Hershel in deep conversation. Once the two had broken up, she caught up with her best friend.

"What was that about?" Ali asked, arching her brow.

"Oh nothin' serious. Just my Dad being my Dad. Said I should be careful with Glenn'' Maggie said with a shrug, not taking any of it to heart. "Speaking of getting too close, what's going on with you and Shane?" Maggie asked.

Ali's cheeks went red "Me and Shane? You're joking right" She laughed "Just a bit of harmless flirting, that's all - I think" Alison smirked.

"Ali, I know you far too well. There's no such thing as harmless when flirt" Maggie teased to which Alison rolled her eyes and headed outside.

Lucy arrived back at the farm with both horses, putting them back in the stables where they would stay for a little while, she didn't want to put them at risk anymore. She headed back to the house to talk to her siblings. When she arrived everyone was pottering around the kitchen, clearly preparing a big meal. "Where's Daryl? Did you find anything?" Carol, the mother of Sophia asked the young girl.

"Daryl's being..Daryl" Lucy spoke "i'm sure he'll turn up eventually"

Alison noticed that her sister had returned after seeing her in the distance, she broke into a jog and embraced Lucy. "I'm so glad you're back" She stated, always worrying so much when her sister was out.

Lucy hugged her sister back, despite Lucy's aloof nature she always appreciated and accepted hugs from her siblings. "I always come back" She spoke as she pulled away, looking at her sister "So stop worrying" She laughed softly "So did I miss anything?"

Before Ali could answer a bellowing scream echoed through the farm.

"Walker!" Andrea screamed, everyone hearing.
