The only light that the group had was that of the large torches of the sentrys on the gates of Woodbury. The walls were high and everywhere was well guarded. The group scanned the area as they took refuge behind a car, hoping not to be spotted by a patrol.
Without warning, Miconne began to leave without saying a word.
"Hey! Hey! Damn it!" Rick called after her with no luck. She was gone to do whatever it was she was here to do and there was no point in chasing her down.
"All right, we need to downsize." the leader instructed the group who all stashed anything they didn't immediately need behind the car in hopes that they'd be stealthier with less baggage.
Ali contemplated before opting to leave her signature bow behind in favour of a Thompson Submachine Gun. She figured that whatever they were going into would require something a little faster than she could draw arrows and she wanted to try her best to be an asset to the group.
"Ain't no way we're gonna check all them buildings, not with all them guards there" Daryl stated once everyone had prepared their loadout and was ready to go.
A twig snapped, causing all of them to turn to see Michonne, all of them breathing a sigh of relief that it was someone familiar. The woman signalled for the group to follow her.
"Alright, let's go" Rick commanded as the group followed Michonne through a panel of a broken back door into a supply room. Everyone kept low and quiet, trying not to draw any attention from outside.
"This is where you were held?" Rick asked Michonne.
"I was questioned" Michonne bluntly replied.
"Any idea where else they could be?" Rick questioned further.
"I thought you said there was a curfew" Daryl also asked Michonne as he glared out of the window of the building to see people wandering the street.
"The street is packed during the day. Those are stragglers." Michonne informed him.
"If anyone comes in here, we're sitting ducks. We gotta move." Rick said in a stressed tone.
"They could be in his apartment." Michone suggested.
"Yeah? What if they ain't?" Daryl rebutted, getting impatient. Rick was right, they were sitting ducks. He glanced over at Ali, who was stood beside her brother.
"Then we'll look somewhere else" Michonne responded through gritted teeth.
"You said you could help up" William said, his anger slowly getting the better of him.
"I'm doing what I can" Michonne hissed back.
"Then where are they?" Ali snapped, her concern for her best friend also coming to the surface.
"Hey" Rick said to the group, gesturing for them to take a step away from Michonne "If this goes south, we're cutting her loose."
"You think she's leading us into a trap?" Oscar asked.
"Right now it's the blind leading the blind" Ali said in an annoyed tone.
"We should split up," Daryl suggested as a knock at the door was heard, followed by keys in the lock and then an opening door. Everyone ducked down as the man entered the room.
"I know you're in here" the man called out to the group "I saw you moving from outside." He stated, moving further into the room. "Alright now. You're not supposed to be in here and you know it." the man added as he stepped even further "Who's in here?".
