The bang of the single bullet echoed through Lucy's ears as she looked at the now blooded body of her brother's girlfriend, laying lifeless against the tree. Blood had splattered across her face and her breathing was heavy.
Ali was inside, her breathing was shallow. When she heard the single shot, it made her realise that this was real and it wasn't a dream she could wake up from or a problem she could solve. Harper was really gone.
William stood in shock staring down at his girlfriend, gone from this world. He felt guilt for many things.. For not loving her the way she deserved, for sleeping with Maggie, and being unfaithful. He wasn't ever the type of guy to do that yet he had and now there was no way he'd be able to actually get forgiveness for those things.
Everyone began to panic as they heard the single bullet sound, it bouncing off the walls in the house. People began to run outside, Daryl gripping onto Ali in a protective manner, knowing it wasn't going to be good for her to see the body of her Harper.
Rick was the first to arrive at the scene, "Lucy..?" He spoke softly, seeing that she was in a state of shock. Gently he took the gun from her hands and threw it down "What happened?" He asked, still remaining calm. "Was she bit?" He asked once again, gaining no response from her.
As more people approached, the more noises began to invade Lucy's ears. Sobs, yells. Lucy looked up from her fixated state, locking eyes with Rick. Lucy didn't know what else to do. She wrapped her arms around Rick and hugged him tightly as she sobbed into his chest relentlessly, everything from the past few weeks hitting her like a truck in one.
Rick wrapped his arms around her tightly, comforting her like a father should, it was something she had lacked since birth, never getting affection from anyone but her siblings; and now one of them was dead.
Everyone apart from Rick made their way back inside, giving Lucy the time and peace that she needed. Silently everyone sat around the dining area waiting to be told what had happened.
Maggie staggered over to William and rested a comforting hand on his shoulder. She knew that she had no place or right to be the one to comfort him but would he really accept the help from anyone else? Will stood up, his head hung low and wrapped his arms around Maggie's waist. He held on to her gently, careful not to slip past any boundaries but Maggie's embrace tightened. As he pulled away, Maggie's index finger brushed a tear from his cheek and she gave him her signature half smile.
Ali was in no state to talk to anyone. The sound of the bang still remained, playing on loop like torture. Daryl continued to comfort her, being a shoulder to cry on, he owed it to her after calling her a little bitch. She had always been nice to him, she didn't deserve the brunt of his anger, nor did Carol.
Shane waltzed into the room where Daryl and Alison had resided, once he walked in his face went cold, angry. "I'll take it from here Daryl" Shane spoke in a matter of fact way.
"Not the time man" Daryl spoke, still having Alison next to him, merely breathing.
"I said I can take it from here" Shane repeated, to which Daryl simply scoffed and got up, heading out to speak with Rick about Randall.

Eventually a grave had to be dug, and although Alison protested that she wanted to help, Maggie made her stay inside. She was dehydrated and sleep deprived and dealing with the whole thing way worse than her sister, who also wasn't dealing with it well either. Lucy and Alison were different in that respect, Ali always tried to express the things she was feeling while Lucy just focused on other things and shut it out. Sometimes Ali wished she had that skill.
